Who's running Tillman tunes?

How do you like them? Which octain tune are you running? Have you compared them to others tunes? If so how do they compare? Did your mpg's change? Anything you don't like about your tune? Did you do a before and after dyno run or compare 1/4 mile runs?

I've been running Tillman Speeds 93oct (Dyno) tune sense mid Aug 2008.

I love it! The tune was a huge improvement over the canned SCT tune I had been running and the throttle response is amazing!

Not sure you can really use my qtr mile times... My previous best (canned SCT tune) was a high 13.4 @ 104mph back on a cool night in April. After the tune I went a few times, but limited traction / much warmer weather (80+) kept me in the low 13.4's @ 106mph. So my times didn't really increase, but my traps went up by around 1.5-2mph. Now last week she clicked off a 13.19 @ 106mph, but I added an off-road ProChamber the day before that run. ...how much of that was cold weather + Tillman's tune, vs the gains from the ProChamber I cannot say.

I have not tried any of the other 'mail order' tuners, so I really cannot give you insight there and my mpg's stayed roughly the same.

I got my tune from CR back in late Feburary and have been smiling ever since!! The tune is AWESOME!! He put it on the dyno, and created a brand-new 93 Octane tune perfect for both the street and track. Throttle lag...GONE!! Revs very quick, and throttle is instant!! When I left his place, I gave it just a blip of power, and the back end almost came out! That's how much power he uptapped!!! The best thing I like, is the power in 3rd AND 4th gear! The passing power I have in 4th is AMAZING!! Gotta love his tuning abilities!!!

I am running a 92 ocatane canned tune and LOVE IT. I would like to compare it to others but have not done so yet, nor have I dynod the car yet. Ill save that for after I install LTs.
I would definatly recommend tillman to anyone. Chris gave me great customer service.

I've been running an 93 octane custom dyno tune with my whipple and words can't describe how the car feels. Compared to a canned tune I had for the whipple, it doesn't even come close to Tillman's tune! the car is a friggen monster!! CR is a very very good tuner! His customer service, second to none! When it comes to his tuning, he gets to know your car inside and out!

17.8 was the spike I believe... it was a pretty smooth slope though, and held nicely around 17. I can try and save as a CSV for you, and send it over if you want. You'll have to load it into Dynojet's Winpep software to really see the curve, though.

That's really conservative, considering I know FRPP's newest calibrations put the car at almost 20 degrees overall.

Thanks everyone for the great reviews! We really appreciate it!

I have been running one of Chris's 93 tunes and its great. He adjusted it when I installed the LT headers and CMDP. He dyno tuned the car and what a difference that made. I have had other tunes but nothing like the ones from Chris.

I trust him completely with tuning my car. He has tunes in different countrys around the world.

First let me start out by saying as I have before, this young mans tuning prowess is flat out phenomenal! I have the 93 race tune with the 95 mm C&L CAI that I've had since early last year and it was good... Then I went back to Tillman on this past Sept 5th for my custom dyno tune on a still completely stock ride. For a car at just above stock, to me it kicks a**. The throttle response is dead on, it sounds angrier, the fun factor is though the roof and my MPG went up. (a plus). Man, every thing is RIGHT, is about all I can say. Too fun to drive. This is a four season daily driver and I've had no issues what so ever. This is the only tune that I've ever had and have no reason to sample any other. There's nothing that I dislike about it at all so I'm good to go. I love how it just explodes off the line and how hard she pulls through the gears. On the highway, the only time I drop a gear to pass is because I want here the engine holler. Other than that, it pulls strong in 5th gear to pass somebody. The 3.55 rear also helps. Again, if it wasn't for the custom tune, this car would be completely bone stock and put down 294 and 313 consistantly. Tillmanspeed has my business for life. L/T's NEXT!!!

I have been thinking about doing this as a X-mas gift to myself as well. I'm curious as to whether a custom dyno tune at Tillmans is better. Perhaps I'm still pessimistic that a great tune can be done without a dyno pull.

I think... Wait. I know a dyno tune is better. My first trip to Tillman, Chris just put on the CAI and loaded the tune. I didn't have enough money with me for a dyno tune or a baseline pull then. The car ran better. But on my 2nd trip came the dyno tune and he sharpened every thing up, ( AFR, throttle response etc.) the car run much harder. So I'm with you on that. Anything I do to this car, I will take the trip to Tillmanspeed even if a have to stay a night. With a dyno (by Chris) I know that the car running right.

I too had the pleasure of meeting CR and of using his tunes. Wonderful experience and if I still had my mustang I would still have his tunes. Just got rid of it and got myself a 2009 6 speed Challenger R/T. To bad CR doesnt tune these babies, otherwise I would have him tune this one as well!
