I'm switching from 3.31 to 4.10 gears in my 06 Auto and found a thread where Doug says you need a new tune to change your shift points when changing gears. He says you can't just change it in your tuner with his tunes, you need a new tune.

I emailed Doug and no response, so I emailed C&L and they (not Doug) replied and said I don't need a new tune.
So, at this point I'm just looking for a tune that's going to work right with the 4.10s
I could switch back to the original diablo tunes that are on the tuner but they have a huge bog after shifting, which is why I bought Dougs tune.
Anyone have an idea? Thanks guys

I'm confused because I have the Diablosport and changing gears is just part of one of the adjustable parameters with ANY tune. Shouldn't need a custom tune just to change the gears. Right now I'm just running the stock 89 octane tune. Was running the premium tune (I have the C&L version of the diablosport). I didn't notice any kind of bog but maybe that's because I'm using the C&L intake with the C&L tunes. I just went in and changed the gear ration on mine (I have 3:73's).

Doug's post says the gear ratio only fixes the speedometer and odometer and not the tune.
His tunes use mph instead of rpm for shifts and the gear ratio setting doesn't change the tune. Guess the tune doesn't use the same gear ratio setting. Apparently not all tunes work this way.

From what I understand,

Got it. That makes sense now.

Yes I only notice it when driving slow. It stays in the lower gear longer, I would drive it the same if it was manual. It's just right, doesn't seem to rev too high or anything. To me the stock tune is a little too eager to upshift.
