I am planning on installing the Magnaflow Catbacks myself w/o the use of a lift......does anyone have any hints/guidance on how to best do so???? I know I have heard ramps will NOT help, so any pointers on how you did it yourself would be very helpful.

The best thing to do is jack it up, use ramps to get everything loose and pull the mufflers off. After you do that the pipes will be left. To get them off use a pair of jackstands on the frame in front of the axle. There should be a spot there. Then let the rear end sag down and you may have to undo the bottom shock bolt (I did). This should give you enough clearance to twist them out. The Magnaflow pipes go in easy so there is no problem there. Hope that helps.
Thanks Mike

I put on magnapack catbacks with just putting the car on jack stands. You need to get the car about as high as your stands will go so that you have room to play with the pipes. The stock pipes are a little tricky to get out but after twisting them around for a while you can get them out. I had to tap mine with a hammer to get the pipes out from between the driveshaft and the axle. Also, you need to have the suspension fully extended to get the pipes out which means you can't put your jack stands under the axle.
The new magnaflow pipes go in MUCH easier than the stock ones come out so all you really have to worry about is tip alignment.
Don't worry, you can do it.

My stands were about and inch too short to take off the pipe. After I jacked it up, it was a breeze. I'm not much of a mechanic, but I got in done in a little over an hour... after doing it once, I could probably get i done in a 1/2 hour. A lift would make it nice though

This may sound a little redneckish (is that word), How about a couple of 2X10's or patio block under the jackstands.

I did it in my garage with a buddy. We jacked up both ends and put jack stands under the car. Doing all the works on your back kind of stinks, especially when you need to wrist-n-fit some of the piping.
