Whipple or Magnacharger

Which supercharger do you guys suggest I get. Pros & Cons. I plan on keeping my 06 for a long time. I'll probably swap out the cams and cylinder heads down the road.

i love the way the whipple is but the magnacharger is more cost effective if you want a daily driver car but if you want something for race and street then go whipple but i can tell you right now the whipple will set you back around $7500+ that is including the install the Magnachager will be around $5400+ for the kit with install. but both are loud and really nice, for sure 460+RWHP on both kits with a stock motor

thewre is nothing wrong wit ha whipple as a daily driver. the beauty of any twin screw, be it saleen, kb or whipple is that msot of the time your in vacuum, not boost. it can be driven liek the s/c isnt even there very easily and then when u mash the go pedal, boom...instant whiplash

I am going with the magnacharger because it's like almos2 grand less than the whipple. I think if it's just a daily driver save the two grand and get the magna. I'm also not looking for a crazy amount of horsepower. I would be extremely happy with 400 RWHP Plus it's seem'a as though the magna has a louder whine than the whipple after listening the maverick's vid's, i'm not 100% sure but that's what it seem's

if your going to do it do it right. go whipple. it is the most complete kit, down to the plugs, fuel system and all. add in all the stuff to make the magnacharger safe and ill bet your at the price of the whipple kit or close to it. the magnacharger is a roots type blower. Whats the first thing many on the cobra guys did in 03/04? remove the crappy stock Roots type blower and go with a twin screw.

with the whipple you get that snappy tune going through your head every time you think of the s/c .... not sure if that's a + or -

I'm facing the same decision. I rode in a Magnacharged Vert. yesterday and it felt pretty strong with the 6# boost and is $5500.00 installed. They use stock plugs and fuel pump. I'll probably go that route. You can also get a drive train warranty for $200.00 but it is pretty restictive.

Make sure you are comparing similar set ups. My FRPP/Whipple is being installed as we speak. My installer, who has put in virtually every kit out there, is amazed at the completeness of the Whipple package. He can't believe everything that comes included. He said the Whipple kit is truly "plug n Play". Mav's cost about $7,000 installed and Dyno'd. My guess is whatever kit you look at if you add everything that comes with the Whipple you will be at or about the same $$$$$$. Although 2 G's is a lot of money don't be penny wise and dollar foolish it could end up costing you a lot more.

Just my 2 cents Good Luck with whatever choice you make.

Neil

There's A LOT more power to be had with a whipple. You're limited below 400rwhp with the magnacharger. Unless you have will power and control, more than likely, the stock power from either S/C will not be enough. I believe people are spending close to $5K for a magna to get to 350ish rwhp. I saw a S197 at my local track with ET Streets (biased ply) running high 12's. Magna should have put some sort of cover over that shaft too. Yes, you may pay a little more for a whipple, but it's complete! With the magna, you're going to spend as much if not more if you were to buy lateral components.

With the magna tune it put's down 380rwhp. Turizm has the magna and he is putting down 430rwhp.

The whipple is my absolute favorite supercharger but 7k

for all twin screws, if you compare them all (KB, Whipple, Magna, Saleen, Roush) your paying in the range of 5400-6000 for the kit (intercooled & nonintercooled) and just about anywhere for install is about $950-1500 depending on shop and shop labor rate. so in all adding up, your close to ball park about 6500-7000 grand for everything.

this is just figures, and this is pretty much my opinion in calling shops all over and getting compared pricing on different kits and installs. trust me I've called everywhere around my state for shops..... lowest price for install i saw was $700 but I thought that was a little cheap and the highest I saw for install was $1800, thats just ridiculous.

screw chargers are the best supers IMO. Maybe not for all out power, but look at the torque curve in Pauls dyno chart. just a flat line. awesome. and to think. it can be installed with hand tools, and a torque wrench. hell if you have a 2007 the studs for the second FPMU are already there.

Whipple FTW

Yeah, I saw your post. The whine on your blower is awesome. I'm thinking of going with the base whipple. Their website states 405HP. Is that number to the crank or wheels?
