Whipple Install

I got a call from the Ford tech at my dealership this evening. I'm dropping the car off Tomorrow (Tue.) afternoon for the install to begin. This was great news because I thought we were still a few weeks away from the install. I'll post pics and initial thoughts as soon as I can!

Just curious about a couple of things. What are they charging you for the labor? Why did you decide not to do it yourself? I just finished my install this past weekend. It took one week but I worked on it a couple of hours every other day or so. All told, it took around 14 hours I believe. And mine has the IC so there was more work than the non-IC unit. It was not difficult.

I'm not sure if I would have all of the necessary tools to do it.

It's about time to be dropping it off? How long did they say install-wise?

Sorry I'm just now getting back to you all. I'll try to answer all of the questions in one post. Intruder - I went with the non intercooled. Price was right and I have an automatic. Willie - I'm getting a deal. My dealership is taking great care of me. Ford should charge $900-$1000 for a dealership install. After all the Shelby parts and other things I have had them do, they are charging me...........lets just say less than half the price of the above mentioned figures. Technically it's being done by the dealership, but it's sorta, kinda, being done on the side. Does that make sense? Unless there are any unforseen problems I should have pics by this time tomorrow.

Lucky dog. Great deal on the blower, then follows it up with a great deal on the labor.

Since its being done by your dealership is there any type of warranty on the engine or blower itself?

Non intercooled whipple is still under warranty. The install at the dealership should even further help plead his case if he ever should encounter one.

My dealership told me they will warranty the motor and the Whipple. They are taking great care of me and even though I didn't buy my car there, they treat me like I did. I am now a customer for life. They have bent over backwards to accomodate me. They told me yesterday that even if I shread my transmission and the car is still under factory warrany, they will take care of it w/ no problems. They are the best dealership I have ever dealt with. I'm fortunate they are just down the road form me. Hey PACETTR are you reading this? I'm giving you all some serious props here!!!!!!!

Great testimony...

With Ford really losing $$$ up the a$$, they are really grinding the dealers on any "gray-area" warranty claims. In this day and age, it is good to find a dealer that still focuses on what is most important-- The Customer!
