Companies really seem to be getting a jump on the superchargers for the 05.

Thank god, it seemed like it took them forever for the 4.6 back in 96.

Since I'm new to the supercharger scene how does Whipple rate? Who do you all think makes the best supercharger?

Whipple and KB are very nice setups, but pricey.

Find one post (besides this one) where I used the term "newb" or any variation.

Fixed link in previous posts.

True. Whipple is not known for affordable pricing. Then tack on any external modifications.

Well, my father-in-law is looking at the Whipple Cobra replacement blower (link). It's only $3150.

Not cheap, but not bad.

Curious why if they have developed a s/c for the 05, why they only show a doodle of car and no pics of the s/c it's self?

Good question. Its probably a marketing ploy to get interest built in the SC kit before R/D is finished. I'm not sure if Whipple was on the list of aftermarket tuners which recieved a pre-production engine, but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't anything of substance at their SEMA booth.

But I'm sure someone else could answer that for you, since I won't be attending SEMA. Maybe some of the more technically inclined members of the forum would like to chime in.

Sendro,

So from what you were saying in the other thread, in order to get high boost the 05 would need new pistons. So how much would those set someone interested in a supercharger back? Not holding you to anything, just an idea.

what i want to know is if they are going to make an Air-to-Air intercooler instead of the Air-to-Water because i would hate messin with water and ice even though it is an easier system

It depends on construction. So far I have not seen any "public" pricing on pistons for the new 05's. But I'm sure a call to Manley, Diamond, or JE would put you on the correct path.

Still a lot of unknown variables in modifying the 05's. Only a handful of non-OEM shops have the chance to breakdown the engine. But I am sure that will change in the next couple of months.
