Tech- Please let me know how things work out after you put the stock rubber pieces back on the rear. Not being able to chirp my tires like before because of the 2 movement process is making me crazy! :bang:

I gotta chime in with a little love for the Saleen short shift adapter.

$30 and a simple install. I have absolutely no complaints about it. Shorter shifts than stock (but not the shortest), no change at all in the sound levels, no binding or other weirdness. I got it to hold me over until the MGW shifter is released, but I may just keep it for good and put the saved money into my Saleen fund.

My exact setup! Love it. Although the look of the billet shift **** is great (like UPR's new ones), the gripper shift **** looks almost as good and just feels perfect.

Super short throw
No missed shifts
Solid
Hurst name (always wanted one growing up)

If anybody thinks there shifter has a shorter throw than this, post up some pics.

This first to second shift is pretty dang short:

Well I did it and it definately helps, but doesn't cure the issue. I don't remember this happening with the stock setup and the design is virtually the same as the Hurst.

I'm thinking the design for the shorter throw is putting the linkage to the tranny under a bind when under load.

Maybe I'll ask a Hurst tech about it.

tech,
Can you be more specific about how it helped to change the rear bushing to the stock one? I'm thinking about doing that myself. Did you just loose the two long studded nuts to loosen the bracket and slid the bushing off and put the stock one back in?

Give the Hurst some time. After a couple of weeks mine loosened up some. Another thing I notice is the 3rd to 4th gear shift is pretty smooth.

The thing I like about the Hurst besides the look is that I haven't missed a 2nd to 3rd gear shift change ever since I installed it.

What I meant was that the pause in neutral is not so harsh and you can move through it more quickly. Also, make sure the linkage nut isn't torqued down too tight. I backed mine off a little and it seemed to help in this respect as well.

I loosened one and took the other all the way off. This seems to be the best way since the bushing is wedged in place by the bracket. It took about 10 minutes total. Pretty easy job.

Thanks for the info. I might have to try that especially since it's a fairly quick thing to do.
