Wheel diameter and 4.10 gears.

I have 4.10 gears and I have 245/45/17 tires. Because I have smaller diameter tires, I am essentially running 4.30 gears. My question is, because I have a bamatune with 4.10s and 245/45/17 did Doug send me tunes to compensate for my tire size? On the hwy my RPM are right were 4.10 gears should be. At 80 I am about 2900 RPMS.

Look up your tire on the net. It will give a rotations per mile #. Plug in your tuner, go to upload tune, pick the tune and go to modify parameters. Make sure 410's are entered for your gear ratio and the proper rotations per mile for your wheels. If its all in there your speedo is good. If you have to enter it, than your speedo has been out the entire time. Make the corrections, upload the tune and all will be fixed.

Doug already set the tune for the 4.10s and the tire size. He set the tire rotation for 820 per mile which is exactly what the website indicates.

I think I answered my own question. The modified tune compensates for the smaller tire size.
