Cool "Believe they are all gone?"

If I remember correctly, they said it had such a small profit margin on those and such low demand, that they just quit making them for Mustangs. Also they just had a big clearence sale last year, on the last of them that they had in stock! Sorry you missed that one. CalStang

why won't a 4'' shaft work for you?

plan on lowering, dont know how aggressive of a drop i want to do but i want to avoid clearence issues. i've heard alot of people frustrated with the 4inch shaft with clearence on a lowered vehicle. unless they didnt do something correct.

You won't need to recalibrate the speedometer. It changes the rotational mass but not the speed. I have one on my car - definitely an improvement, quicker acceleration, no vibration, smoother ride, and the car feels "lighter" as a result of the reduced rotational weight.

If your car is lowered then you have to adjust the emergency brake mount to clear the 4" shaft is what I was told.

I have had the Spydershaft without issues and now have the Coast drive shaft without issues. I am lowered and unless you go lower than 1.5 inches you will be fine. If you go to 2 inches or more then you will have to adjust your upper control arm which I understand is a P.I.T.A.

The speedometer will be fine which a drive shaft change.

I do have the Shaftmaster's 3.5" aluminum for sale in the classifieds...... $400 plus shipping. I think I paid like $599 for it earlier this year (uh, I mean Jan 08).

I had a Shaftmasters 4" and 3.5", I bought the 4" before the 3.5" was available. Both were perfect, the 3.5" still is with no vibration and no problems. I may get flamed but there have been several cases of vibration or excessive run out with the Spydershaft.

$400 for a 3.5" Shaftmasters DS is a steal BTW I think I paid $650 for mine.

Yes, I also read in a post by Shaftmasters that they still make the DS but only sell on eBay because of the skinny profit margin. Do an eBay search by seller for Shaftmasters and contact them by email. Last I heard they are very responsive and the price is very good. My next big mod will probably be a Shaftmasters DS.

I have a Coast 4" and it's great. No clearance problems with Steeda Ultralites.
