Hey all,
Thinking about a trip and wondering how bad it would be to take the shelby on about a 6hr drive now that she is supercharged.
Factors: Money for 93 octane
Temp underhood.
I am sure there will be no issues, just wondering what all your experiences have been....

drove my 05 stang with a whipple on it from new jersey to myrtle beach, sc and back, no problems, no high temperature. actually took me a tank and a half to get down there and about 6-8 hours. wasn't bad at all, just cruise controlled it 90% of the way down

Chalon runs a turbo, she drives from our home to KC once or twice a month, 3hrs each way, no problems, even with 565rwhp/600rwtq.

Taken many of long trips with my S/C 96 GT. Longest was San Antonio to VA Beach over 4 days. Almost all interstate. No problems. You really don't use the S/C when your on cruise control.

I drive to Phoenix (from Los angeles) 400+ miles one way, a few times a year. And I drive to Louisiana once every few years (2000 miles one way). A/C in the summer, heat in the winter. No problems yet :-)
with 5 gears, even 4.10's in the rear aren't a problem for freeways, I cruise at 75-80, RPMs around the 2800-3000 area if I remember correctly. Cruising, the boost doesn't rise much at all (stays in vaccum, with a whipple anyway, due to the pressure valve) so I don't think there is much harm. Just keep an eye on your gauges every now and then, I make a habbit to check the temp, oil pressure, and gas every so often. cruizing along for long periods of time you can forget about stuff, even gas, haha! I come from owning older cars, where I HAVE to keep an eye on things, I get spoiled by this new car, I haven't ever had problems with over heating, or anything like that which I experienced with my old cars. I always check oil level, brake fluid, and tire pressure before and after a long drive. If I stop for the night, I check things before I move onto the next days drive.
Watch your WOT A/F ratio when you get into new climates though, if you romp on it that is. I usually don't romp on it to hard when I'm away from home, you never know what could happen, and it would suck to bust something so far from home!
If you have loud pipes, you might want to consider throwing the stock mufflers back on, the exhaust can give you a headache and ears ringing on a loud car. My mustang doesn't, but my old camaro did for sure, even on short trips.
