Looking to get my SCT from doug soon and was wondering what was everyones favorite tune. I'm thinking of getting 1/87 2/89 3/91 not sure if I want the performance or Torque tunes. Tks in advance for the help.

I've used the Performance, Torque and even the Race but when all is said and done for my daily driving use I go back to the high octane Torque tune.

 

What's the difference between a torque and a performance tune

 

I have to go with the 93 torque tune. Have that and the race tune but only the torque tune gives you that seat of the pants ummpphhh that we all love.

I like the torque tune best. I don't know how different they are but the torque tune feels like the cars power is brutal and imediate, whereas the performance feels like the power comes on smoother and just keeps building with speed. Hard to explain. I do seem to get better MPG with the performance tune.

Butt dyno says torque tune is more fun.

I like the race tune best.

Though the last time I tried the performance or torque tunes I had less mods. Since I now have LT Headers, De-CATs and X-Pipe etc.

 

Although I haven't been in a modded Mustang, I have a very accurate butt dyno, and the butt dyno is very sensitive to torque...

Plus, it makes it feel like you're in a real musclecar...

 

When I was running Bama, definitely the TQ tune. But he has a race/track tune out now. I've seen impressive results with that one.

 

I think I'm going to have Doug program a Valet Mode for PSH to limit RPMs to 2500 and the top speed to 55.

But I love my 93 Race Tune. It makes 460 rwhp and is safe enough for daily driving, which is how I use it.

 

OK guys.I'm really confused now.What do I need for everyday driving and to get rid of the hesitation? When you buy from Bamachips,does the custom tune come with the normal price of the SCT2 tuner??Or do you buy the tuner and pay extra for Dougs custom tune?? Also there is a thread started that noone replied to but that I would like to know and that is ..Should I go with the racer c&L CAI or the one with the finished intake?? Please help

I love the race tune, however that's the only one I've ever used.

 

I currently use the 91/93 preformance tune and think it is great. Havent actually taken the time to try the tq tune yet but might do so in the near future.

What is this race tune im seeing come up here? Is it used on stock or slightly modded cars or for certain set ups?
