What is this stuff under my car??

I found this small puddle under the rear of my car tonight. I have no idea what it is, or where it came from. It is not oily feeling, and has no odor that I can detect. It feels like water, and looks very similar to brown soda.

I checked the trunk, and it is empty. I have not carried anything in the trunk in probably 2 months, and it is a daily driver. Roads have been dry the last week or so.

It looks like the liquid is coming from the spot in the last picture, and dripping down onto the plastic shield thingey, then dripping onto the concrete.

Any ideas??

I will be avoiding the dealership at all costs. I have 58K miles on it, so any visit to the dealer will be expensive. I think tomorrow I will be removing the trunk mat and possibly the spare tire to see if anything is in there.

Edit: nevermind- saw last pic, my initial thought was wrong...

At this point the only thing I can think of is blinker fluid leaking from the backs of your taillights.

I was thinking blinker fluid as well. Maybe this synthetic stuff will help!!

I also thought maybe my muffler bearing was going out.

Maybe condensation from the exhaust pipe?

It isn't condensation, it is not under either pipe. It's the wrong color too, it's a clear, brown liquid. Anything coming out of the exhaust would be black tinted from any soot. It really looks like a Coke exploded in my trunk....except it didn't.

Is it possible its rear diff fluid? My other Mustang after driving for a few hours tended to squirt out of the vent found on the top of the differential when I had 4.10 gears. It seemed to overheat and puke fluid everywhere. When you are driving it sprays all over the tank and rear pipes. Maybe its residual fluid?

If it is read diff fluid it will smell awful and be oily.

Have you driven your car in some snow lately? I get puddles like this when I pick up ice mixed in with the cinders that are put on the roads here when it snows.

If it doesn't, do it again, I wouldn't worry about it.

1) It is not gear oil from the diff, it is not oily. It is watery.

2) It has not rained or snowed in over a week here, and I drive my car nearly every day. It can't be from that.

3) I noticed today that the puddle has evaporated from the floor, leaving a brown spot on the concrete. Must be water based whatever it is.

Probably just condensation from inside your trunk. Has the temperature been cold one day then warmer the next where you live?

That is possible I guess. It's Missouri, so it is never the same temp. around here. It was pretty cold on the day I found it though, and since the car was garaged I tend to wonder about that. I suppose the condensation could have happened while I was at work or out driving, and just took a while to slowly drain out. I'll be checking the trunk for sure today. I didn't yesterday because I was busy all afternoon.

This is the most logical answer

Just an FYI...But I had to have the rear end pinion seal replaced by the dealership for a small leak. I know you said it wasnt oil but I thought I'd throw this out there.

I found a similar fluid dripping from my mufflers. Probably watery-carbon buildup.
