So in all honesty, how would the car actually run properly with that on it? Does anything else look fishy to you guys other than the CAI?

I can't believe that someone would put that on their car. How does the computer even know how much air is coming into the throttle body?

Something appears to be going on with the window washer fluid reservoir as well. Not sure if that's some kind of cover or a replacement, but definitely not stock.

Agreed. That's something I've never seen before but definitely warrants some further investigation.

Also, what's up with the wires going over the top of that homemade intake? I don't recognize those either.

It seems to me that if someone was willing to make a dryer tubing intake for their car they probably aren't the sort of person you want to buy a car from. Who knows what else is "customized" on that car.

Best case scenario with that intake it's making a lot of turbulence inside because of the corrugations and probably robbing a little HP. But if the maf housing is a different size that stock there could be all kinds of problems with they thing.

Sad thing is that it's actually for sale at a dealership. No idea why they would buy it in that condition. Sucks because the rest of the car looks nice.

It was probably a trade in. I can attest from experience that dealers will take absolutely any car in trade if it helps sell a car. haha.

Where I work, we've got some stock GT airbox's lying around and I would've replaced it, or if the rest of the car was too mickey moused we'd run it through the auction and let somebody else deal with it. haha.

unfortunately most car salesmen in my experience really aren't car enthusiasts, and probably didn't even bother to look twice under the hood of that car, and will have no problem selling it to some kid who doesn't know any better.
