get race seats, pull the spare, mufflers, carpet...theres really no point though...if you have kids and everything its just going to make the car look like crap. Your better off keeping it the way it is for looks...its a street car not a race car, you want it to be fast but your not planning on going pro street with it. If you were serious about speed on the street you would just buy the turbo kit on MMR and not worry about any weight

I like the look of the seat delete kit anyway....reminds me of the old mustangs....kinda gives it that vintage look...i'll definitely do that in January.....would cut down on multiple friends trying to get rides anyway...HAHA Nothing worse then 4 guys weighing 800 lbs. total riding in the car when that Camaro SS pulls up and gives ya the bird while revving the engine! :-)

The latest issue of hot rod has the N/A 2005 that ran a 12.31 . They had lots of weight reduction issues covered in the article. The got the 2005 down around 3100 pounds. Its still on the newsstand if you want to check it out or I could scan it in for you.

LETS SAY, AFTER YOU STRUGGLE TO LOSE EVERY POUND YOU CAN, YOUR PONY LOSES 5OOLBS.....WHICH IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE.
WHAT WOULD YOU GAIN BY LOSING THESE LBS...........(.05) FASTER QUARTER?

IMP, DONT THINK IN TERMS OF LOSING BIG WEIGHT. MOST AFTERMAKET ADD ONS, LIKE WHEELS, MUFFLERS ETC. ARE LIGHTER ANYWAY.

THINK IN TERMS OF HOW MUCH MORE HORSEPOWER YOU NEED TO GAIN TO AQUIRE THE SAME (0.5) IN THE QUARTER........

DONT STRIP YOUR STANG UNLESS YOU ARE ON THE DRAGSTRIP EVERY WEEKEND.

LASTLY, THE MOST WEIGHT YOUR CAR CAN LOSE IS BY HAVING VERY LITTLE GAS IN YOUR TANK. GAS WEIGHS APPROX. 6.5 LBS PER GALLON.

16X6.5=104LBS...........

I just wanted to bump this up. I just re-read it, cleaning off the cobwebs along the way. Some people had mentioned taking out the spare tire and jack to save a little weight. And there was some breif talk about what to do if you geta flat. Instead of spending the big bucks on run-flat tires, couldn't you just throw a can of fix-a-flat where the spare was? That would be enough to get you somewhere to have someone plug the tire.

Also, has anyone ordered the MMR rear seat delete kit yet. I'm thinking about adding it to my list.

Fix-a-flat is junk IMHO. It makes a real mess in the tire, and can cause balance problems. It's definitely not something I want in a tire that's on a high performance car. Also, I wouldn’t plug the tires on a Mustang, patch only . . . much more speed/heat friendly. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the advice. So, I guess the only thing to do if you want to remove the spare is to get run-flat tires.
