Vegasjay-Saleen blower set up

Vegasjay -
I didnt realise it but I have the same set up as you coming with the saleen s/c I ordered - I decided to not go with the C&L intake - Im removing mine.
I ordered new motor mounts because I was told I needed to lower the engine 1/2 inch to close the stock hood with the saleen s/c.

I told JDM I was looking for 450rwhp. Did you dyno at 484rwhp?

You will love it!! Those numbers are SAE rear wheel numbers from a Dyno Jet dyno, Jim SR made me a new tune. What intake are you going with? I highly recommend the C&L racer tube and the 90 mm Lightning MAF. JDM has the best Saleen S/C kit & tune, it has so much power and is smooth as silk....

What are you running for exhaust? You will want to look into Long Tubes as that may be your main restriction. If you need help during the install PM me and I'll help out the best I can.

Have you checked out ModularFords.com? They have a ton of info on these set-up's....Pay special attention to the vacuum routing diagrams and the boost valve set-up...

Right on! I think I've gotten the going on drunken, stripper hunting "Binges" out of my system for awhile... One thing about it, the Pony is good for hauling strippers to hotel rooms in 12 seconds flat...Provided there a quarter mile away that is.

Yeah, I'm geting a built shortblock from JDM...Complete headwork w/nasty cams, turning up the boost to 15 pounds and toping it of with 125 shot of juice. I'm not a big fan of SHM but thanks for the link none-the-less...

You sure will need that shortblock from JDM to handle all that power your car has.

So far the only changes I made to my exhaust are the SLPs LM. I have read so many articles saying that the changing isnt worth the money for the amount of hp you'll gain. However - once this mod is done - the bug will soon return.... and that will probably be next. I do want the Hood from the cs6 and hertz cars...

I have the C&L but I figured I would get rid of it
I am going to have a 90mm MAF - I ordered that when I order the blower. (Set up: motor mounts, 3.4 pulley - 9.5psi boost, JDM Saleen CAI, 90MM lightning MAF, Saleen Blower, Belt, 39# cobra injectors, xcal2 tuner, 92 octane JDM tune, Powder coat black valve covers, Autometer A-Pillar pod - Boost and A/F ratio, CS6 rims)

No matter what I will be getting dyno'd to insure Im not running lean.

I am not willing to do the blower install so I am going to a place out here in seattle called Brad's Custom Auto 1600$. My dealership will honor the warranty unless I blow the motor due to the s/c. Washington law mandates they have to prove a mod caused the failure.
Anyway Brad's have a great reputation and have been in 5.0 magazine. When they lower the motor 1/2 inch. Im hoping it allows me to keep the Strut tower brace.

Lucky for me - my Wife is into the car and has encouraged the mods. Shes all for the changes, although I think I am approaching a line in the sand with the cost of this mod.

It looks like you have a good plan...Which C&L intake do you have? The aluminum one won't work with the Saleen as you suspect but the C&L "Racer" plastic tube works like a champ, especially with the lowered motor mounts (which I still would like to get).

I gained about 25 RWHP with the Long Tubes in N/A trim, I suspect they are helping to gain a bit more now, so to me it's defiantly worth it despite what the mag's say. Besides that, the sound is more than worth it IMO.

I wish I lived closer to you. I could install it for you and charge half that price...lol It was a fun install but a lot of work for sure.

If you need any help with adjustment's or anything just shoot me a PM.

I dont think the lowered motor mounts will be enough to clear a strut tower brace...The Saleen sticks up pretty high, you would need to lower it two inches or more to clear a brace...Good luck though, I may be wrong...

Aluminum one - they didnt have the plastic one when I bought mine...So I am going with the stock intake and the Saleen CAI w90mm MAF. Spoke with JDM about it and decided to stay with the stock intake since its already plastic, Not as nice looking though.

Will do - Im Curious your a manual right? - Based on your sig, it looks like you're putting alot of torque and hp through the stock motor and clutch, Hows your clutch and motor holding up?

Yeah, I have a manual...The motor is doing fine (knock on wood). I get oil samples done through Blackstone laboratories and so far so good. My clutch is paying a heavy price and is fading fast...After I get the GT 500 fuel pumps installed the clutch is next, I'm going with a Ram clutch. The Brakes are also on deck as the stock ones don't like halting 500 hp. I have the powerslot rotors and hawk pads, I'm waiting on the SS brake lines and Motul fluid to arrive to tackle that. It never ends...

I also had the aluminum C&L and sold it here along with my old Diablo tuner. It was a great combo and I kinda miss the original tube but changes had to be made...

argh... Looks like I should be saving for a clutch sooner than I planned.... Now how to tell my wife this...

are you finding the stock fuel pump inadequate? I know JDM is working on getting a hold of GT500 pump.
