upper control arms install
control arm "singular" our cars have only one unlike the Sn95 models. i have not seen any install pics of this products but i can point you in the right direction. Call steeda and ask them to supply you with some pictures. they have a nice adjustable upper control arm and they will definitely be able to answer any suspension question you might have. they are great and i have done business with then many times.
I have a clunking sound coming from the back (believe it's just a loose sway bar) so I'm going to work on the suspension tomorow. Maybe I'll try putting my UCA on. If I do i will take pics.
cool, is it a adjustable peice? what brand? i need to get one but not sure which to get.
Mine is a CHE non adjustable unit. I didn't have time to put it on today. I did take pics of the stock one in place. For the most part its two bolts, but will probably have to take out the over the axle pipe to get to the bolt that connects to the body.
they can be a pain depending on which brand you get...if its a adjustable one make sure you measure and set it to the stock length when you get the stock one out...no adjustment may be needed and if not then no messing with big jamnuts in a tight spot...the install i did with a spohn perf. spherical i had to unbolt the mount plate (3 bolts , one under back seat, very tight factory torques) because the top bolt for the arm was long and i needed more wiggle/play in the area to get it in...not all may have that issue...just be aware that it can be there...i have also heard of people needing to drop the tanks to get the entire mount plate out as well...don't know why that would be needed...just telling you what i read...good luck..its a good mod that add some lateral stiffness i believe...
im just wondering for when it comes time for me to get under there and do mine
You can try, but I dont think you will have enouh room. I have the pypes midmuffler system and the control arm is about 6 inches from the over the axle pipe, not enough room for an impact wrench.
I just loosened the three upper control arm mounting bolts to allow the mounting bracket to drop down enough to allow the bolt to be pulled out. It was fairly easy to do actually.
