Underdrive pulleys, yes -no?

Are they a good investment, worth doing? I'm considering this simple upgrade.

I've had them on my car for 8 months now trouble free. It's a good mod for the price.

Ditto. It won't make the engine feel supercharged, but it feels like you just turned the air conditioning off, if you follow. A little more pep, a little more responsiveness.

Interesting. I have had 2 sets and sold them both because it didn't seem like anyone thought they were worth the effort and price.

I found the effort to be minimal.... 200.00 bucks for 5 or 10 ponys.....HP gain costs all seem to be relative 600.00 bucks for a CAI and tuner gains about 20 to 30 HP....5000.00 for a blower that nets about 150 HP .......It ain't cheap to go fast...

Hey Rich....Isn't it hard to make that conclusion without trying them??? Do the UD pullies and Meziere electric waterpump together. It is worth the money and time!!! I have them both.

The one thing I've heard about UD pulleys is if you either have the Shaker 1000 or any inten of upgrading the Shaker 500 with a stronger amp, the UD pulleys may underdrive the electric system. Not sure if a decent capacitance system would solve it or not.

Otherwise the pulleys are a mod I'm planning on doing sometime this year as well. May as well do the cheap performance mods first, right?

I've got the Shaker1000 here and no problems to report. Heck I've run my a/c full blast and the shaker during the summer with no problems at all.

Scott ! your overlooking one other thing. Underdrive pulleys also reduce parasitic drag/stress, on both the power driven accessories, and engine itself. Which results in extending your engine's overall lifespan.

So there's really far more benefit to UDP's, than just 5-10 HP. gains.

Yeah you guys convinced me that this is something that I should do. I think it will be a nice addition to the 1 piece D/S and my buddy has been wanting to install a set on my car for months. Brenspeed just got an order for a set tonight.

I'd say no. You'll just have to put the stock crank pulley back on when you get the supercharger.

I had my car dynoed before and after the pullies were installed. They netted 3 horses.

However, the car does accelerate a little quicker.

I don't believe them to be a great mod, but they do have some benefit.
