I've had no problems ever with the Steeda underdrive pulley set (water pump and harmonic balancer). That's what I would go with, unless you're set on the Roush brand. I have a deal for 192.99 shipped to the door on these pulleys.

While your in there you might as well do the water pump as well and get all the gains possible....Breenspeed has the water pump and pulley combo for a good deal....and max. gains in that area.

It is reccommended to do both. They work in conjunction with each other. Yes you will notice the difference in HP gains. The Steeda UDP set is 192.99 shipped to the door from us. Let me know if you have any questions!

Same here. Had them in my '96 and now in my '05 (Steeda). UD pulleys should give you no cooling or electrical (charging) problems. If you do have such problems, the fault is probably not with the pulleys. It's a good mod for the price, but don't expect miracles. It might net you a few extra ponies.

Go for it, install the UDPS, you won't regret it. I've had mine on for 18 months. It took me a long time the first time I did it but I learned from my mistakes and the second time, it only took about 2 hours. I wrote up instructions on how to do it so others could learn from my mistakes.
Here are my instructions:

I finally got around to installing my Steeda UDPs yesterday, considering I bought them over a year ago. Thanks to Odiaz' write-up, the install was so easy, especially being able to pickup the right harmonic balancer puller from Autozone. And the trick to use the rubber band on the puller worked perfect. After reading all the trouble people were having trying to remove the harmonic balancer bolt, I wasn't looking forward to that part. When it came time to remove "the bolt", it couldn't have been easier. I did it by putting the car in 5th gear, setting the emergency brake, and used the breaker bar with floor jack handle technique. There was also no need to put the car on stands or remove the radiator fan assembly. After popping off my C&L CAI, there was plenty of room. The whole operation took me less than 2 hours.
