Buying a car in Britain and not getting ripped off is extraordinary. Getting a good deal is unheard of....well done.

You work for Ford?
Don't waste your money (pounds) on the throttle body and the charge motion plates. The car already gets more air than it knows what to do with. And the charge motion plates are only good for top end HP where you won't "feel it in your butt". I put shorty JBA's on my car. Long tubes will get you a few more ponies but remember if you ever want to get to your clutch you'll have to take the long tubes off. For me it wasn't worth the hastle. You need a good tuning program to get the faster throttle responce. I'm not sure if the program you put in your car takes care of that or not. One things for sure the factory program has a significant dwell between foot and throttle plate. So in conclusion, Headers, X-pipe, Gears, Tuning (maybe some more to squeeze out of it).... Try contacting Bama chips (I'd recomend a guy but he likes to be in the car when he is adjusting all the fuel/spark maps). Good luck and give those blokes in the German cars a run for the money and tell them to sod off!!!!
Have a pint for me!

Saleen + Stripes? PLEASE TAKE THEM OFF!!...

About the other... your car looks great and runs great... u want more power? get the saleen blower... I mean, if you could pay importing a Saleen from usa to uk... and u have the money for gas... bolt ons... taxes... etc... then you have the money for a blower...

Thats my opinion... good luck!

Cheers m8!

Can you answer that when fitting shorty headers or LT headers is it a big involving job? Then if I matched that up with a off road pipe would the noise be really bad and would emissions be way out?

Do you know the difference between X and H pipe setups, does one give more power than the other?

I have sent an email to Bama to see what tunes he can offer me....

Hi there

I have considered such an add-on but over here in the UK I would not know who to get to fit such a device as its quite a bit more complicated to fit and more involving wheras bolt on mods like headers, mid pipe are not so complicated.

But the re-assurance is that if I do get the exhaust fitted and get some extra ponies than when I do install an S/C if I do then the gains in power will be even greater.

If you're going to supercharge you better do something about those powdered rods.

You've got a Saleen in the UK..you need quality parts to represent us over there.

Just do this...

Order silver ceramic coated JBA Lontube headers. JBA Catted H-pipe and Ford Racing 4.10 Gears. Get them installed professionally and thank me later. Your car will sound and feel awesome. Trust me on this.

I really do want the JBA LT's and catted H-Pipe but its the fitting issues that are concerning me.
I forsee 3 issues:-
1. Fitment is very involving could take upto 8 hours!
2. Engine mounts needs and JBA LT's may rub against bodywork
3. I think my Saleen is lower than a STD Mustang and I know JBA LT's could cause problems with ground clearance.

Convince me otherwise about the above three as they are big worries to me or maybe you know a good alternative?

This is a time where I wish I was in the US or we have a great tuning shop here locally in the UK.........

Welcome to the site mate! I have JBA L/T headers with JBA catted h-pipe. I love the set up.

1: Yes, install can be a real PITA even for a professional. 8 hours if not longer is about right. Unless JBA changed their instructions, on mine they recommended re-using the stock header gaskets. DO NOT DO THIS. I and another I know who did this got a header leak and they had to remove the headers and re-install to replace the gasket. Save yourself time, money, and headaches.. invest in new ones from Ford ($28US) or get ones from JBA.

2: Engine mounts, not a big issue. Since you need to raise the engine off the motor mounts anyway, might as well put better stiffer ones in. It's not extra labor. You can pick up a set of polyeurathane ones for about $129US.

3. Properly installed JBA L/T headers are not any lower than stock. In other words, they do not go past the frame rails of the car, no ground clearance is lost. One tip in case your mechanic doesn't do it. On the h-pipe have them rotate the clamps inward thus putting the bolts up and in and not pointed down which would lose you some ground clearance.

Enjoy your Saleen!

Great help m8!

One final thing can you point me in the right direction who can offer me the best deal on the JBA LT's along with H-Pipe please along with somewhere where I can get engine mounts too. Sorry and don't think its me been lazy but as I don't live in the US I don't have a clue where the best places are to buy from.

So if people here could point me to a thread/sticky which has a list of website selling performance parts or can post some links for me where I can find some great deals obviously mainly on the JBA headers it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gibbo
