Question Tuner Question

I never carry my XCal in my car but I was thinking that if I ever threw a code it would be nice to have it with me.

If I have the XCal in my car and someone broke into my car and stole it what would I do? I know the tuner isn't any good to the a-hole who stole it but how would I ever get my stock tune back in the car?

Is this why you should write down your strategy code so a Ford dealer could reprogram your car to it's orginial setting?

Sorry if this is a silly question but I am leaning towards carrying it in the car instead of having it in a drawer at home. How many of you carry it with you in the car?

Mine is always in my trunk. Think of it like this- there is no trunk release, so unless the crook stole your keys too, he would have to open up the rear seats to get to it. If you're worried, just keep it in your spare tire well. And if the crook did steal your keys too, you'll have bigger problems lol.

It's good to keep it in the car for break downs. Checking codes is my main reason. Of course I haven't had any to check.

I always keep mine in the car. I got a gun case for it a a local shop. Nice & padded inside!

Doug (Bamachips) or one of the other tuners might be able to answer the other part of your question.

I keep mine in the car as well.

I know you can download the stock tune from your XCal to your computer (I have done it). I would imagine you could get it onto another XCal that was setup for your car. Thats gotta be the reason why you can download it off of your XCal. I am not sure on that part...just guessing.

+12...but yeah, are we all SOL if it gets stolen? I almost had that happen. Some delinquent cleared out my interior of my cd's, parking pass and owners manual, but left my stereo, x-cal, registration and show photo album. (A nice criminal??? I really dodged a bullet).

Ok, enough of this. I called my flash tuner manufacture and my Ford service department. Both told me that your local Ford service shop can always re-flash your comuter back to stock.
