Latest progress report. Well the clearance problems have been solved. There was nothing wrong with the kit’s pipes the clearance issue was caused by the Prothane engine mounts I installed with the new engine. The mounts actually made the engine sit higher than stock and with all the angles involved with the piping this was what was giving us the problems. I got a set of lowering mounts from JDM and now everything fits great. Won’t be able to work on it this weekend but now it’s all downhill so it should be finished soon. Anyone want a set of almost new Prothane mounts?

Just wanted to add Jim from TurboHorsepower has been great through all this and offering to do anything he could to help. I couldn’t ask for better service than he has given me. For anyone thinking about a turbo Jim is the man.

Just wanted to give an update. Things are coming along slowly but I'm getting there. Here are a couple shots of the air cleaner setup I decided to go with. It's down to the little things now finishing the wiring, installing the gauges, run the cooling lines and such.

I got the tires mounted on my new wheels. ZE forged Boost model wheels and M&H dr/s on the rear with Goodrich KDW2’s up front. Now if I could only get the car finished I’d be happy.

I threw the budget out the window about half way through the build. If I stopped to add everything up I would probably have a heart attack. After I get it running I already have everything to add a Steeda race version cowl hood, Xenon aggressive front fascia, GT/CS rear bumper and CDC ducktail.

Earl,

Would you guess more than $15k? And do you think the aluminum block will be stiff enough for all that compression?
Looks awesome, man.

Mike it’s well past $15K and the engine builders say the block should be good for 800 hp or better.

Mongoose I have had fast cars all my life but this is my last toy and I plan to really enjoy it so I would call it money well spent.

The kit comes with everything you need to do the install but I didn’t like the way the wiring harness was stretched across the front of the engine to reach the computer and fuse box back where the battery used to be. Luckily my guy is a ford mechanic with access to all the wiring diagrams so he rewired the harness so that everything looks factory installed. We also installed the computer behind the firewall so it isn’t even in view.
