Time to mod the 'stang...

So I am starting off cheap...here's what I am thinking so far.

Currently I am running without mufflers and I like the sound. I want the SLP LM's but I want to be legal, so I have decided to go with the MAC's. How would you guys rate these bad boys? http://www.ninosport.com/MAC-Axle-Ba...tang-GT-TK2546

Next, I want to upgrade my cold air intake. I don't want to tune even though tuning is recommended for any upgrade. I originally was set with the K&N but people say it really isn't worth the money. So instead of the K&N, I figure I go with the BBK. http://www.ninosport.com/BBK-Cold-Ai...ustang-GT-1736

I think that would just about do it for my mods. I want to also add that rear honey-comb panel. I don't want to add to much to the car because at some point I will end up trading it in for a Challenger.

So what do you think of the MAC and the BBK? Are there any other smaller mods you guys could think of?

Thanks. I appreciate it very much!

Don't do anything before you get a tune. That is the biggest bang for the buck you can do to these car's. You can run a BBK cai without a tune ( I have done it) but without the tune it doesn't make enough difference to even tell it's there.

You want a tune with the CAI. You may think you want axle backs more, but you really wan't the tune first. I'm not a fan of pushing my beliefs down other people's throats, but getting a tune with the CAI is something you will not regret. I got my CAI/tune 2 months after I got the car and I regret every day of those 2 months that I drove it without the tune. It's like I wasted those 2 months of my mustang.

It's what you want. And who knows what you want better than a stranger on some internet forums? That's right, no one.

In conclusion, get a tune with the CAI.

The Mac's sound great but I would start out with getting a CAI and a tune. I would go with a C&L or a JLT and a Diablo or SCT tuner..good bang for the buck.

Any difference between the C&L and JLT CAI?

On Brenspeed they say the JLT is capable of 30+ hp. Whats the C&L listed at?

Both intakes produce about the same amount of power. 1-2hp difference is pretty much insignificant.

They both produce about the same HP. It comes down to which look you like more I like the C&L street look but the JLT is cheaper. Also a good tune is a must. Here is a link for comparison.

I got the my FRPP Stingers as my first mod and I don't regret it for a second. I loved driving around town with a good rumble still gettin used to the power that I had. Eventually I did get a CAI/Tune and it made a world of a difference. Its just a preference of what you want, sound or speed.
