ticking/fluttering noise throughout rpms
ticking/fluttering noise throughout rpms
the other day i noticed a ticking/fluttering noise coming from the driver side floorboard. the higher the rpm, the faster the ticking. on heavy accel it gets louder. then when i shut it down last night the noise continued for about 10 seconds then finally died out.
first, i know its not a cadillac so no posts about turning the radio up please. the noise is more annoying than anything, and horsepower seems the same. i thought it might have something to do with electric power, cause shortly after the windows wouldnt go down/up unless the button was held down and last time this happened the battery died.
any ideas?

Long shot: The bell housing inspection plate bolts missing? This was an issue on the 2005's, I thought they had it fixed by now.
Here's a thread on it and some other solutions to ticking:

Only thing else I could think of is the Center Stack Rattle TSB for the midpipe hangars.

I am not a professional mechanic, I just play one on the internet.
I gotta say exhaust leak. I see you have some aftermarket exhaust mods done. I would start there. Look to see if you have everything tight and squarely seated. Then look for any cracks in the headers.
i'll look into it when i change the oil in bout 200 miles. im still skeptical on the exhaust leak end because the noise continues after i shut the engine down, but ill tighten things up and see
There could be a small possiblity that the starter is not fully disengaged and could be the culprit. Never heard of that being a problem on these cars but perhaps. Ya might put the car up on stands in the front and start her up crawl underneath and try to pinpoint the noise. An old trick that works for noisy lifters/valves is to put a wooden hammer against potential noise makers and your ear on the other end. The noise will resonate through the handle and you can actually hear the sound when you pinpoint it.
