Throttle body

Debating new throttle body. Not sure if it is worth it. I have C&L street CAI (insert removed), hot rod cams, delete plates, BBK shorty headers, Steeda UDP, high flow cats, prochamber and Flowmaster mufflers. Have a shot at picking up C&L Racer CAI but I understand it is not much of a difference unless highly modified.

What do you guys think? TB and CAI.
Thanks

The C&L street CAI can be ran without a tune. It is a sleeve that is inserted into the tube where the MAF sensor is plugged in. I think its intended to reduce the air flow enough to where it won't throw a CEL (too lean) when using the CAI.

IIRC... stock TB good for up to 400hp. Benefit of larger TB not realized unless power-adder installed as well, but then only mid-range to top end.

Do some searching....

I always hear that but if that's the case why does everyone I know running one w just simple boltons feel a nice increase of throttle response and power ?

Wrong. The amount of air isn't changed. What is changed is the speed of the air that the stock maf is used to reading. The maf will not cause a lean condition

Ever heard of the placebo effect? That's what they are experiencing.. look at dyno pulls and track times. Not what they think they are feeling.

all the dyno sheets i have seen have show 5hp average. and you cant feel 5hp. now it does increase throttle response some but you shouldnt be able to feel the power. unless you have a freak stang lol

I've see roughly the same numbers... I guess what I mean by power is acceleration... Either way... It's not worth it till you have more power

I gotcha. My original post was just a guess as to what the sleeve did. I was figuring a smaller diameter would bring it less air. I didn't think about the speed of the traveling air past the MAF sensor. It all makes sense now.
