Question Those who own SLP loudmouths

I heard a few at the show in MB this weekend. Where did you get them and can you keep the noise down so the neighbors won't complain? I mean slow, just above idle leaving the neighborhood.

What do they run?

I bought mine used with 4K miles on them for $160, but don't use my price as a measure as it's just not a fair assessment. As far as noise, sure you can idle down the road, the startup is what wakes the neighbors up though.

Personally, I'm in 3rd gear by the time I get past the property line on my house if I'm leaving early, but it doesn't matter. They are called SLP Loudmouths not SLP Quietenoughtonotbothertheneighbors.

I got mine for 300 from lmperformance.com. They are very loud at start up when the car revs high for a few seconds. I usually just got to 2nd gear soon when leaving the parking garage and it wasnt too bad I only ever set of 2 alarms . If you are very concerned about neighbors you may want to consider something different.

$240.00 from Lmperformance.com, they raised the price now though from what I've read.

Cold starts are loud! I can creep through the parking lot without raising too many eyebrows but start the car and the jig is up. Also, if you have an automatic, taking off from a light can be tricky if your not looking for attention. I think a stick would be easier to control the sound level.

So far my neighbors say they like hearing my car in the morning. It's loud though so I'm sure it won't be cool for everyone. Just get the car going slowly and you can quiet it down a lot.

if you have the stock H, its mellow and controllable. Dont worry, as long as you keep that midpipe stock, you can get away with them easily pretty much anywhere as long as you arent totally stupid with it. They are pretty mellow down low. Cold starts are a little loud, but not bad. Not bad at all.

the cold start isnt THAT bad. jeez you people make it sound like the off road pipe. THAT was an obnoxious cold start. Nobody will bother you for having SLP as long as you dont go WOT everywhere. I live in CA and go to some of the most tight assed places in the country about noise ordinances. No problems with the SLP and stock H. now with the off road H, thats a completely different story, lol.

I agree... with the stock cats in place, it's a non-issue.

no issues here either. I love them. Cold starts are a bit loud but once it idles down its not an issue. Then when you want some growl just mash on the GO pedal and she wakes right up.

You need to ask Doug for his tune that drops the start up RPM's to idle immediately after start up.
You will love it.

loudmouth IIs were for 99-04 cars. we have the powerflos which are the same thing as LM2s but they are basically just stingers..... so put them out of your mind, its the loudmouths you want.

When you start the car, it drops to idle immediately. Also the RPM's don't hang between shifts. The car is now waaaay more drivable.
I have been "testing" this PGM and working out some bugs for Doug. Other than RPMS dropping, it is the same program that made Doug "the man"!!
