looks like ya have to drop the gas tank
according to steeda you just have to take the 3rd link bolts out, after talking to them on the phone, they were no help, they didnt know anything about it.
im giving steeda third link 2 thumbs down
1st thumb down for the stupid spacers that come with the 3rd link
2nd for S H I T T Y install instructions
another reason for thier AWFUL support, best answer they could give me was
"I dunno"

update
got it in finally, had to use a pry bar to bend the bracket down and get the bolt in and out, and had to take back bolts out of bracket
steeda really needs to re do their instructions, and get someone in their tech support that knows their hiney from a hole in the ground

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner, but you don't have to use a pry-bar. Just remove the back seat (two finger operated clips) and then loosen the single bolt but do not remove it. This will allow enough wiggle in the bracket (after you remove the two bolts on the underside) so you can move it enough to remove the cross bolt. I also removed the panhard rod to get more room to swing the wrench.
I think you will like the Steeda unit. I switched over from the BMR unit because the helm joint was too harsh for my taste.

The helm joint has absolutely no give at all. When I would go over any small bump in the road, I would get a small but sharp jolt. You could also hear a metallic thud. With the Urethane upper I have now, it is still stiff but you feel and hear a more "muffled" thud. Don't get me wrong, the BMR's are top quality and did a great job at the drag strip It was just a little too hardcore for my old bones
