Question Which of these two CAIs should I get?

Ok. I have a basically stock 2007 GT that I want to get either a JLT2 or C&L Street intake for with a Xcal2 to back it up. Ignoring the differences in cost, which intake should I get?

BTW, I noticed on C&L's webpage they now offer a "no-tune" insert for the C&L.. at least it looks like an insert from the webpage... http://www.cnlperformance.com/notune.html

Comments are welcome!

Thanks!

You are going to get about a 50/50 split in the opinions from guys here. We have seen great power from both intakes, and both are a quality product. The C&L is said to make a few more horses than the JLT, but its a really close call.

I like the C&L stuff.

Since the difference in performance is negligible I say go for which ever you think looks better.

The " No-Tune insert" is something that is coming soon from C&L, it isn't available just yet. I was there when he did his testing on it as well as doing some personal testing at the St. Louis Dynoday with it. It is a very nice peice that doesn't use any manipulative electronics but rather the factory Ford MAF sensor and then can easily be removed when you are ready for tune for even more power.

As for the JLT and C&L, they both are well within 2-3 rwhp of each other, the quailty is great too as JLT's were a little off in the beginning Jay has come a long way to further his products and make for a quality kit and a economical price. The C&L street kit is a bit nicer with its fully aluminum intake tube but the JLT can be color matched using factory colors to your car.

All in all its a hard decision but either way you know you'll be getting a good product with either one you decide.

thanks, Doug.

I just ordered the JLT. Considered both units but went with the JLT because of the savings in $$ for the same performance, and was able to get UDP's for only $80 over what it would have cost me for the C&L alone.

I say go with the JLT. I have one on my car and it made all of the Diff. Plus I like the option of getting it painted to match the car.

Well if you want the no tune option, try the c&l , I did see the experimental piece at the st. louis dyno day, and it seemed to work well.

I have the C&L Racer, but it's been fantastic, great quality, and priced right! It and the Brenspeed tune have me sittin' pretty. I'm sure you will enjoy either one.

JLT2 Here also, what a difference. I'm sure the C&L is a good product also, I just preferred the paintable tube over the polished aluminum one myself.

To me, it came down to looks. I like the look of the C&L aluminum intake tube to kinda dress up the engine bay. But, I like that you can paint the JLT to match the body color. Either one is a good choice.

Thanks everyone for the responses!! I see the voting is at an exact 50/50 split!! It does go to show you that both the JLT and C&L intakes are great products and have a lot of happy customers. Now I just need to get off the pot and make a decision.
