Here's the link:

Corsas are superb! I swapped from Flowmasters because of the drone. Offer this guy $500 and he'll probably come back with a final offer of $525 - best price I've seen:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corsa...QQcmdZViewItem

like Mike said - it says GT500 but it's the same parts and fits the 05-07 GTs.

Good luck!

I started turning my stereo up a little louder and combine that with going deaf from the SLP's, the drone is pretty much gone.

What about some sort of resonators installed somewhere on the pipe? That would probably change the sound too though right?

Change gears or drive a little faster/slower.

Someone here at work has Bassanis and it sounds frigging AWESOME. You would want resonators downstream of the mufflers. I'm not sure how effective they would be upstream of the mufflers.

Sent an email to Bassani:
"I currently have the Stainless Bassani axle backs on my mustang and LOVE the
sound. The only issue I have is around 1700-2000 rpm there is a bad
resonance if you give it a little more gas while in 5th gear. Some people
describe it as a "drone" sound, and it is very annoying. I'm wondering if
the Bassani X Pipe with cats would help this issue. I know it will change
the sound, but am wondering about the resonance issue. Thanks!!"

Hi Steve,

Unfortunately any after marker system exhaust systems that are designed for
performance and sound, do have a resonance. Typically it is at a cruising
speed. The x pipe may reduce the resonance, but I cannot guaranty that as
sound is subjective.

Check this link for more information. http://www.bassani.com/warranty.

Bassani Xhaust mufflers are NOT warranted to produce or cancel any
particular tone, note or resonance. As sound preference is purely
subjective, Bassani Xhaust recommends you conduct thorough research prior to
making a purchase.

Steve: The OEMs typically spend thousands of dollars/man-hours to reduce NVH, and the factory mufflers do a great job of killing the drone. I have heard about some people using dual X-crossovers successfully to reduce the drone. It might be worth checking out.

Dual X-Crossover? Is that just a regular x-pipe? Never heard it called that before, but I've been thinking about it for a while. Maybe once some more $$ rolls around. (read: NEVER)

I started out with Bassani's last year, and eventually went to Corsa. Corsas has NO DRONE at all. I'm now running Borlas but that's due to a variety of reasons mainly concerning my midpipe choice.

ChrisM, glad to see you're liking the Corsas!

What? Please explain

[quote=GT John;856473]I know this may sound a little crazy but run down to your local Auto-Zone and pick up (2) exhaust pipe "C" clamps install them where you have the new exhaust installed..........ditch the Ford exhaust pipe clamps. For $6 its worth a try.

Several of us have done this and the drone goes away......period. I dont know why it works........it just does.

Also, what you can do to help quite the interior is to "Dynomat" all the metal in the trunk and back seat area.[/q What exactly are you changing/replacing here? The clamps just tighten mufffler to pipe for leakfree seal...what did you change to get rid of drone?

Add resonators from either Kooks(Racing Mufflers) or Dynomax (Bullit Performance Mufflers)..... Dynomax is cheaper.... and your good... It will lower it a lot...add an Off-Road H-Pipe and you have a perfect sounding car with very minimal drone!

A dual-x crossover is two x-crossovers:
X
X

I'm not sure if it works very well but it was a supposed cure for drone.

...strange...not sure where that extra X would fit under the car, not a whole lot of room under there. Where did you hear about this??

How much quieter would it be with just the extra resonators installed? I'm not looking to spend much money for an o/r H or X pipe, and I still do want to keep my stock cats. I just love the sound and volume of my Bassani's, just hate the drone.

It was something that I learned about on Modular Depot. I know a guy with a Mark VIII that had this installed along with Long Tube headers. I parked next to him and when he started it up, I could FEEL the exhaust pulses inside my car (because of his long tubes and muffler setup). He claimed that it didn't have any interior drone though.

A lot of stuff can affect vibration/drone: pipe length, gas velocity, etc... The OEMs do weird stuff to help reduce/eliminate drone like unequal pipe lengths, resonators, and different chamber designs in the mufflers after exhausting thousands of man-hours for expensive NVH testing.
