Is there an easy cure for the dreded "exhaust drone"?
Just wondering if anyone has found an easy cure to the dreaded exhaust drone that many of us are experiencing. I recently got a set of Bassani's, and I LOVE the sound, but they do drone some at around 17-19K rpm's. I thought I read somewhere about some resonators, but can't remember if they helped or not.

Several of us have done this and the drone goes away......period. I dont know why it works........it just does.
Also, what you can do to help quite the interior is to "Dynomat" all the metal in the trunk and back seat area.
**** drone!!! I'm on second cat-back system, it just don't go away. New system is quieter in general, so drone is quieter too. I surely don't have the answer, throwing money at it hasn't helped yet.

I'd rather not change axleback systems, I LOVE the way the Bassani's sound all around, except the drone!! GRRRR!!!
How do the GTA's sound compared to the Bassani's?

Yea, when we switch guys over to the ARH's with the catted X pipe in either 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" it takes away alot of the drone, and lowers the exhaust tone an octave or two.
I would be interested how a long tube mid muffler setup would sound. Maybe we'll give this a shot on someone's car who's willing to experiment locally?

I like the deeper sound of h-pipes,so I would prefer a catted-h like you want to try. I wont be buying AR Headers and Catted X very soon, so I would like to hear your setup with a catted h compared to your current catted x in the mean time.
sounds good, i mean my car sounds sick with their catted x and flows, but im sure the h would make it a little deeper and give it that five point oh sound that i at least think is the best mustang sound ever. i just want it a little deeper, i have the right amount of flowmaster rattle. i really wouldnt care if i lost a little hp.
One word for them: AWESOME.
They may cost more, but the money you save by not having to buy Tylenol for your headache more than compensates for it.
Their website has sound clips, and an install sheet (although I assume it's like every other system for the install).
But, I will tell you that their slogan is true: "Loud when you want it to be, Quiet when it needs to be". I can't say enough about it. And, those unique 4" tips look GREAT!!
