Test and Tune Night at the Strip
Took it to Emerald Coast in Holt last night for test and tune. Not too many cars there, could get through the staging lines in about 15 minutes at times, got 10 runs in. It was a little foggy at times, so traction was a factor.
This was my first time at Holt, first 1/8th, first time with the KB, and only second time with the Mustang at the track.
Good news is, I know what I need, some DR's. Tried 25psi in the Nitto 555 295/45/18's, and was cutting a lot of 2.2's in 60'. Dropped it down to 23psi, and started cutting some 2.0's. No smoking burnouts, just a little spin to scrub them off.
Shifter wise, the Pro 5.0 is MUCH better than the Hurst. I only got locked out of third gear once all night. But it is so squeaky and so much extra NVH, I'm getting the new MGW triple adjustable shifter. Once I put on the CHE K member brace w/TLs I have sitting beside me, I won't worry about 3rd anymore.
More good news, I met one of my goals: beat a new Corvette C6. He came and talked to me in the staging lanes and wanted to run. He had a few mods: tune, CAI, Corsa exhaust, and had been to the track with it many times. He was a pretty cool guy. Ran him 3 times, even switched lanes, and I beat him all three. It was such a great feeling to watch a shiney new red Corvette drop behind me as I raced down the strip. Made the night worthwhile. I love this car!
