tell me about 07 GTs

Looks like I'll be in the market for an 07 GT this summer. Please give me your overall opinions of the car, what mods you've done, what kind of HP the cars are making, pros/cons, what you'd do different, bang for the buck, etc....
Thanks guys!

I love mine...

I had it dynoed before my mods were added (bone stock) it made 270 RWHP (manual trans). I added all the mods in my sig through the dealership, so it was all covered under warranty. No cons at all...yet.

Anything more specific you want to know?

I have had my factory odered 07 since August. I have had Z E R O problems with it. There is no other vehicle in the world that can match it's overall performance for the cost. I love it. If you are waiting until summer, I'd advise ordering an 08. You should be able to take delivery late July, early August.

let me know if you have any questions beyond that. Waiting for 08 might be a good idea, there is supposed to be two new colors coming out for you to take a look at.

If your getting an 07' w/5spd. make absolutely sure it comes with 3:55's.Get under the car and check the rear end decal where the gearing is listed.Other than that, I did have the rear end gears replaced with 3:73's and love the improved throttle responce. The interior trim package with the leather wrapped dash, armrest, aluminum foot pedals are a nice bonus. And the heated seats are great when its **** freezing cold out.

If you can wait, then hold off till September. That's when they always have the best deals.

First off, welcome to the site and congrats on a decision to purchase a great car. The starter mods seem to be intake and tune. There's a lot of similar CAI's, but the WMS is a unique one that gets forgotten about sometimes. (love mine )

If you wait for the end of the year clearance sales, you will get a better deal but it is unlikely you will get exactly what you want.

At every dealership in my area, they only have Mustang GTs with the IUP, leather seats, charcoal interior, etc... They were all basically cookie cutter configurations down to the color of the leather interior. All of the GTs were automatics with only a couple of manuals per dealership lot.

I wanted a non-IUP GT with a manual transmission, cloth seats, 3.55s, and the Shaker 500. I also added other factory options that I did not find on the cars in the lots.

If you want a specific configuration, or if you want a car that hasn't been messed around with by dealership mechanics, or if you want a car whose body and paint haven't been subjected to months of direct exposure to the sun/rain/snow/power washers/bird poop, definitely factory order a GT.

If you don't care about any of the above and just want the least expensive GT possible, play the waiting game.

I have a '07 and love it like my '05 I had. I just wanted the delux with leather as my option. I went to my dealer and told em to find one 2 days later I had it. Came with 3.55's (didn't care tho) and a spoiler. I took the spoiler off and have a set of 4.30's waiting for install.

Don't fear the gear!

edit: bone stock trim I made 272 rwhp and 295 rwtq on a dynojet. This weekend I should have frpp springs and stinger axlebacks installed. Have nice shipment of BMR and kooks on the way. Along with a set of 18x9 and 18x10.5 black DD fr500's.
