TCI Ratchet Shifter

Bought a TCI shifter from a member of this forum, and was in the process of installing it, when I discovered something not covered in the instructions. There is a electronic module directly in the way of disconnecting the cable. It is in a small space, so I'm not sure if it can be removed without encountering some issues in regards to bolt removal. I'm not sure what it's purpose is, in addition the connector for the cable looks nothing like the instructions. Has any one had this problem, and what did you do about it?
