I'm waiting for one specifically designed to fit the '05, which also is designed to work with the ABS system. I've been told that SLP is working on one and should be available soon... likely in the $130-$140 price range. I checked SLP's site a few days ago... nothing yet.

The one that 169Stang uses is from Paul's High Performance, but they want about $300 for it. I can wait a few weeks if I need to.

I have the PHP kit also, it is specific to the 05 with the lines/fittings included if you call them to place the order. They work great. Be ready for a lot of fabrication and fitting hunting if you order one from anyone else. Hopefully somone will offer a cheaper alternative to the PHP kit but who knows how long it will be, till then just wear your clutch and brakes as the rest of us did since late last year.

I would rather take the known road than pioneering a path.

It is a bit more expensive than traditional line lock kits, but it's the only one that I know of that is specific to the 05. Blazing Saddles-George has an ingenius idea about placing a single solenoid up by the brake fluid resevoir, between the ABS system and something else. Watch out for what he does. He may have a great solution to "Paul's High Prices."

I'll be following George's efforts for sure. I'll also keep an eye on SLP to see if/when they release a 2005-specific kit.

just buy 2 hurst line loc kits

put one on each front brake line, near the wheel, and you will have alot higher quality line loc setup than the pauls setup.

I haven't had any issues with Paul's in regards to quality.

I like Pauls kit but you would think he would furnish performed lines like the one he did for Hot Rod Mag. Cost to him would me minimum and it would come a lot closer justifying the 300 buck price. I am still looking for the vender of his solenoids and will make my own kit when I find them. I like them because the are straight through top to bottom.

Hurst does not supply you with the correct fittings or lines to do the job correctly, I purchased the PHP kit over the net and found this out the hard way. I called them and they had to send me the 05 specific parts (approx $50.00 worth of AN fittings and lines) of course they did this free of charge. Bottom line if you order from PHP do it on the phone so they know you have an 05, or order another company's kits and try to get the correct fittings yourself. But I bet you waste a lot of time looking for the right fittings.

I sincerely hope someone can buy independent solenoids and track down all the fittings to make this work with the 05...easily. I'm pretty sure it won't be easy. When I questioned Paul about his kit he told me just that...that the fittings were "strange" and good luck putting that kit together.

Anyone find a good alternative to the PHP line lock kit yet? Last I heard from SLP, the are not planning to do an 05-specific kit.

As usual, I read interesting forum postings that look like cool stuff, and have no idea what it is. Who will be kind enough to tell me exactly what a line lock does? It reduces clutch/brake wear apparently... that's about it for what I can discern

It locks only your front brakes up, so you are free to do perfect burnouts. Used mostly for drag racing. But could YOU resist using them on the street? I think not!

Sorry to Hi-jack, but I have two TCI line locks (NIB) for sale. I bought them for another car of mine, but never used them. $85 shipped for the pair, I will take paypal or money order.
