Hey...

Long time reader, first time poster

Need some quick information on as-built suspension differences between 17" wheel orders and 18" wheel orders on '06 GTs. Dealer has offered to swap 17"s for 18" fanblades, but I had read/heard that there were some suspension tweeks to optimise performance with the 18"s. I know that there are different front strut part #s if you have 17" or 18" wheels.

Any help will be much appreciated!

John

article

Here's a link that touches briefly on that.... I'll see what else I can find that may be more specific.

I have heard that before, so I'm sure you're correct.

ok... here's an exerpt from another article that mentions it....
Mustang GT customers can now also choose between four different wheel and tire packages, including two new 18-inch wheels and tires complemented by unique suspension tuning. In addition, two new Mustang colors – Vista Blue Clearcoat Metallic and Tungsten Grey Clearcoat Metallic – join the color palette for 2006.

Hey, clintoris...

Thanks for the link! That's one of the places that I had heard about "differences", but the authors are spewing more marketing-speak than specifics. Anything that you might find/know about specific changes or parts will help me in my "discussions" with the dealer!

Thanks for your help!

jcwells, just FYI........ I have an 05 and swapped my upgrades for a set of fanblades. Car handles and feels great. The ride is only slightly stiffer but not bad whatsoever. I don't think its worth swapping suspension over.
