Supercharger questions "tuner kits" : Vortech and Paxton

I'm going to assume that tuner kit has everything needed except;

- injectors
- fuel pump
- tuner (predator or x2)

I HAVE a tuner so thats not an issue.

Injectors are cheap and fuel pumps are not very pricey...

To get in the door.... S-trim 2720$ on blow by racing's website

Anyone have any experience with a tuner kit?

Not to push the issue or get off topic, but get an intercooled kit...... I know you don't have to but I would if I were you.

I was going to get the tuner kit and then hunt down some nice injectors and a fuel pump.. and after that, install the kit and save up for the intercooler/aftercooler.

I wonder what the differnce is between s trim and t trim?

vortec's website it down right now, being reworked so i cant check right now.

I believe the tuner kits also don't include the Diablosport MAF.ia. You'll need it to get a usable MAF reading at WOT.

S trim is the standard headunit while the Ttrim is Vortechs "Race" headunit, able to handle much higher boost levels...For a street application I would say just go with the S

You likely won't need a mass air, even with a tuner kit. Most kits like the Paxton come with a larger diameter mass air sensor and fitting, even the tuner kits. Just make sure you do or don't need one before you go buying one with that bonus money.......

Our tuner kits do not have the MAF housing as well...we do sell everything seperately except for the Predator. The T-Trim is for those who are going to build up their motor...not for a stock engine.

What makes you say that Forced? Vortech and Paxton certainly market the T-Trim and Novi 2200's for stock engines. I'm having a Novi 2200 installed on my block with the base pulley, are you saying I'm in for problems or are you referring to those who go for bigger pulleys?

Not any problems...it's just the S-Trim is good for stock apps...sure the T-Trim will work, but it costs more. If you are planning to do any motor work...you could step to the T-Trim. The S is good for 680ish HP.

I can live with that.....

Forced, any chance on a nice group buy on a complete S-trim kit or Tuner kits?

so many buyers = this price
so many buyers = a lower price
so many buyers = even lower

<-- wishfull thinking

We need to get one of the sponsors/vendors on TMS and convince them to do a group buy...

If enough interest could be generated with serious buyers they might go for it.

The more I watch and listen to that darn video, the more I want a Magnacharger. Roots or not, its a good deal for the money, looks great, sounds great, and shouldn't throw a rod thru the block at the base level.

Saleen chargers are $$$

The best way in to FI is with a vortec kit or paxton kit.....

I would love to have a Saleen, Whipple or other roots style blower but they are too much money.

Just thought I'd throw this out there because people seem to think roots blowers are old technology and only stupid people would choose them. Yes it's less efficient in developing boost than the alternatives, but on the plus side a roots blower doesn't technically compress the air at all, it just forces it into a confined space. That means if you aren't at full throttle it isn't doing any work. It's only when you're aproaching WOT that it starts to build up pressure in the intake manifold. All this means that for the 99% of the time that you arn't at WOT you're burning less gas than the twin screw guys. After all that's why most manufacturers still use roots blowers even though "better" alternatives are now available.
