Sorry to hear about your loss man.
Speaking of keeping toys, I'm getting as much as the ones I want before I even think about getting married.
But I guess I have to have a girlfriend before I can do that.

Corey,
Sorry to hear that man.....
As for the poll, I doubt you would get out of the marriage with the mustang (Lawyers) so you might as well keep her and have a mustang. you just have to wear her down....

I've dropped another 25k in my car since buying it and I'm about to hand the Procharger over to my son (for a killer price) fuel pumps and all and put my second supercharger on, probably a Whipple. My wife and I have never once argued about the money spent. She does say a thing or 2 once in a while, but she's awesome ( and didn't get fat )
The way I handle it is not to go too far overboard spending money and I always spend just enough on her to keep her happy. She loves her diesel truck, so I've hooked her up with all kinds of mods for it. 5'' exhaust, AFE CAI, billet grille, and lots of accessories. When I see there is something she really wants around the house, I make it happen, but when I really want something I make it happen too.

I just dropped $1800 for wheels and tires in the last 3 weeks. My wife first thought I was but I sorta think that she sees that it is my only hobby now, I go to shows (and have suprisingly won prizes each time ) so she is coming around to the idea that having a "show car" is cool. I know she has commented to her work cronies about how often I wash, maintain, and carefully park at the remote parking spot.
I personally do not street race but have been know to "drive it like I stole it" every so often, even so, I am more into the show than the go...
I would LOVE to be FI but am happy with my CAI and tune and go on my merry way.
My father once said "if you have a FAST car, you have to drive fast to be cool, if you have a SHARP car, you have to go slow so everybody can see just how cool it is... I fall under that flag...
That being said...
SUPERCHARGER, SUPERCHARGER, SUPERCHARGER!

For the record and as prefaced in the first post I would never let a material object ruin my marriage. I would not live without my girl. But when you start talking about the whine of a supercharger.....
I think the whine should drown out any complaining she does when it is installed!!!!!!

That puts it all right back into perspective. I am sorry to hear about your loss, and now I feel like a complete toolbox for even posting this thread...

So in my head I thought through the options...
Supercharger and divorce
Supercharger and divorce
- Wife gets half my money
- I am single again=having a sex life again
- split the parental responsability
- SUPERCHARGED STANG
- Wife gets all my money
- sex? whats that?
- constant parental responsability
- Naturally aspirated and still not supercharged stang
Nitrous and get a mistress
Wife never looks in trunk or under hood
You occassionally get sex and an extra 75 Hp
Your kids get another "button" to press
When you pop the motor, remove nitrous and have wife take it to dealer

You need to work her more to agree!

Yeah, I agree. And when you're explaining the $5k on your credit card, you can just grumble angrily about <insert made up car part here> under your breath.
As long as you don't accidentally say "supercharger" for <insert made up car part here>, I think you're fine. Try angrily mumbling "it was that **** rear differential shock bearing manifold housing selector... 1 in a 1000 chance... sorry babe, had to replace it. I have the worst luck, eh?"
She won't ask.
