It all depends on what your goals are. For me, the Kenne Bell was the correct choice.

 

+1. the kb was the right choice for me for instant power throughout the rpm band.

We're really lucky to have so many options to chose from and argue over. Lol!

Do some research to find which one is right for you.

Have you considered a Turbo? They produce impressive amount of TQ for drag racing. I'm very happy with mine, and know two GT turbo owners that have impressive results as well.

 

Although it comes down to personal choice Elvism you do live in south Jersey about 20 mins from the best Saleen S/C tuner(JDM).It was a toss up between the Saleen or the KB for me.While making your choice on S/C's make sure you find a tuner who familair with the S/C of your choice in your area.
My opinion would be go Saleen from JDM.
And as Don W stated.......set a goal.Dont get into overkill and have regrets later.

About 1-1/2 year ago, I had a race shop here in San Diego trying to convince me that a Vortech was the bomb, and that's what I should get. As it turns out, they were pushing it because that's what they sold and they didn't bother to even try to find out whether or not it was the correct choice for me. After doing a ton of research, I eventually decided that the stump-pulling low-end torque of a twin screw was what I wanted. So, I had my eyes on the Saleen for a few months. And literally one day before I was going to buy a Saleen, the KB units became available. After comparing the pros and cons of each, it was a no-brainer for me... and a KB went on my car a few weeks later.

 

what's up with the roush sc? In the current MM&FF, the roush stage 3 loses to a 06 stock vette in the quarter mile and on the road course.

 

The Roush S/C is a low boost, conservative-tune blower... very similar to the base (4psi) Saleen S/C.

 

I know the Roush is conservative but I like the fact that it has a 3 year warranty

 

for those of you who have a S/C, i wonder how many of you are running with cat'd exhaust? I assume many saleen and roush cars are.

They dynoed 391 rwhp with 5 psi which I didn't think was too bad. The Roush was also 396 lbs more than the vette, but it came real close to matching the C6 numbers both on the strip and road course. A 7 psi pulley upgrade would be the equalizer.

There is tons of info on S/C's out there, just search for it and get the one that's right for you.

Saleen, looks good, have to get lower motor mounts, needs a little upgrading/supporting mods to get as much hp as a KB, hood clearance issues on some aftermarket hoods, basically the Saleen sits a little higher than most.

KB, have to cut the car (no big deal to those that have it), strong, reliable, easily upgradeable, sucks cold air but the air filter is low to the ground which could be a concern if your roads flood all the time.

Lots of info out there, just search. Don't eliminate turbos either. Build a spreadsheet, get all the facts you can, put on everthing that's important to YOU: install time, ease of instal, overall cost, come with a tune? come with a programer? customer service? can I reach someone if I have question? supporting mods required? hp gain estimate? overall cost, dollars per hp/tq gained, etc. Then make your decision.
