I'm another one in the minority who decided against "Sleeper". I personally think it looks nice and will help stop some of the ricers from challenging me ...

I vote "yes"

I'm not supercharged yet, It's planned for May '08; that's when my warranty expires. When this happens, I'll badge it on the decklid.

My KB is getting loud enough at idle that I'm not fooling anyone, I might go with some small "Supercharged" emblems under the GT on the fenders.

I've got the sleeper look I guess. A Mustang isn't really a sleeper though. You can barely hear my Vortech under idle and it's silent under WOT. All you can hear is a faint whistle from the diverter valve when under boost.

Oh, and do you think the slicks and skinnies disqualify it from being a sleeper?

Hey Don,

Do you drive on normal wheels/tires when not at the track?

Just curious.

The best part for me about having a supercharger, is being able to tell people that my car is supercharged...AFTER I race them and surprise them.

I think that "supercharged" emblems look great, they really do. But for me, I'm gonna stay sleeper.

I had someone pull up to me today, point at my gauges and ask "is it supercharged"? I usually don't like any added attention (accept for my DNS FAIL license plate, because hardly anyone knows what it is, haha!) but I thought that was pretty cool that they equated gauges = supercharger I gave the car a quick blip o spin the tires, plastered a grin on my (and their) face and got a thumbs up

That's the first time someone has ever given me a thumbs up for my car (cause it looks stock aside from the gauges, and is usually dirty), I might be able to see why some folks might like putting a 'supercharged' emblem on their car, the was nice

How could you enjoy fake hooters?

Yes, I didn't think it would get this loud. It doesn't really get much louder under boost, but a definite whine at idle and cruising. Very high pitched. It doesn't really bother me, but on long trips, it starts to get a little annoying after a few hours.

I think you and don_w did an excellant job of advertising without going over the top. Advertise or not...neither of your cars would be mistaken for sleepers. Its hard to be a sleeper when you're driving ANY Mustang, much less a Mustang with a S/C.

On the street I run 17x9 chrome bullitts all around, with 255/50-17 Nitto 450s up front, and M&H 325/45-17 Drag Radials in the back.

I like the sleeper thing. No advertising..........Mine doesnt look too sleeper and the blower noise at idle comes out thru the hood hole anyhow at the stoplight. You can see those windows go down to hear the rattling from HOSS...Then rolled back up when they figure out it's a huffjob........The prospective stoplight dash turns into a non-event...

Ok, all this talk about superchargers and hooters is getting me hot . While I'm pretty sure I can get the latter at a different site; What's the best way to choose a supercharger and much boost can be run without moding the engine?

If there's a tread on it, please let me know.

Walt

i think you can run 10psi on these motors and still be on the safe side, 11 pushing it and 12 will never last long, 13 psi, you can say bye bye after one or times in the boost range
