Successfully using non-Mercon ATF with TR-3650?
Let's hear your success stories using various types of ATF with your 05-up TR-3650.
Tremec has stated that they used Texaco-Havoline Non-Synth Mercon ATF for testing and development of the TR-3650, which is what they recommend. I have heard horror stories of people using Mobil 1 ATF in 2001-2004 TR-3650s and not being able to shift into 2nd gear until the RPMs dropped down a LOT. The manual and FSM calls for roughly 3 quarts of ATF for our 05-up TR-3650s (fill capacity does appear to be an important thing - too much and the gearbox acts up). I've always been sold on the use of synthetics and wondered why the TR-6060 uses Mercon-V while the TR-3650 uses Mercon. The TR-6060 seems to be a much smoother gearbox...

Just leave what the developers designed the car to have in it. I don't think the 07's shifter is bad at all-I have no desire to change it and think its better then all my older stangs with aftermarket shifters
Are you trying to build an entirely different car?
