i made enough clearance on the intake cover so that you could barely slide a piece of paper underneath it. and i keep checking the hook liner, and it has made no marks or molds on the liner under the hood.

What happens when your motor mounts age and allow more engine flex?

I think I'm with traffic142, I think I will pass on an intake cover...

I do have the FRPP STP, any idea if the Saleen S/C will fit underneath?

The Saleen SC is the tallest of them all and basically is up against the hood blanket already. At least with my Kenne Bell, I could still fit my Shaker scoop under the hood.

ive discovered that a lot of the SINGLE braces clear the intake cover with no problems, I may go and sell my GMS one and get the other one from GMS, with the granatelli blue

Strut tower braces do several things:

1.) Lighten your wallet from $85 to $205 (depends on supplier).
2.) Give you a reason to open your hood at car shows. (CAI also req'd)
3.) Stiffen your frame creating a box section within your engine bay.

4.) Will KEEP your car tight as continued beatings ensue!

Keeping the car stiff is the main reason! Sure the car is built well and doesn't NEED the STB to improve anything, but don't buy one and see how much money you will give to get rid of the rattles and squeaks in 2 years! Probably just about $200, funny how that works!

Thanks, I ordered one too. Won't have the car for a while, but figured I'd get this now and have it ready.

Hags1 - where did you get that brace? Was it over $300? I already have Steeda non-adjustable, but still curious.

It's not on the website. You'll have to call and ask about it.

I ordered the one pictured in post 1 of this topic. It didn't fit over my plenum cover at all. They mentioned they had a new billet STB coming out and I could get it when it was ready. I sent back the other STB and they issued full credit for it. I kind of forgot about the new billet STB until it arrived in UPS one day. It's adjustable and very stout when it's all put together. It's less then $300. I'd post the final price, but I don't think they care for that here........Give GMS a call and they can fill you in.

Mustang Monthly (July 06 issue) shows one from Ingalls Engineering. "Ingalls has designed the brace to fit with almost all aftermarket intake covers and supercharger inlet systems." It has integral brackets that capture all four bolts on each strut.

I have the Steeda Brace, which works great, but I also have an engine cover coming that I am worried will be a very tight fit under it. I may have to use the washer fix:

Ingels Eng brace

I have the Ingels brace on my car , And I can tell a big differance . Makes the whole car ride better . I also have the rear shock tower brace , and the lower brace they have as well . The lower brace mounts between the frame and the tranny , stiffens the whole drive train up . You can go to their web site to find out more . And the parts are available thru Colorado Mustang Specialists .

Yeah, it was totalled by a woman running a red light. I was able to get most of the parts off of it, but not all. I've got all them, plus replacements, plus the strut bar waiting now. And I just found out the car was built on Monday, and will be here maybe as early as next Friday. I'm so psyched!

I got my Strange bar (in satin) and installed it on 6/24 during a NextGenMuscleCars.com Dyno day. Before putting it on my car, we test fit it on a GT with a ProCharger (air filter mounts on the driver's side in the rear of the engine bay) and it would not fit over the air tube. It sure stiffens up the ride on my GT though! Unfortunatley, be ready to feel more of the road irregularities...
