Smile Strut Brace

Does anybody here know the part number for the Shelby GT500 strut tower brace? If so does anybody know if it will clear the whipple supercharger on the 4.6 motor? I would think it might since it clears the 5.4 supercharger.

Correct. It will not clear the hood without butchering it.

The granatelli single bar clears the hood and a ford plenum cover. Not sure about the supercharger.

I know FRPP is working on a bar to clear the plenum cover, but I think the consensus is NO bar will clear the whipple with a stock hood.

Any one looking for a Granatelli single bar, I have a brand new one for sale 40.00. Would not fit my 07 with the factory cover.

Thanks for all the input. Does anybody know of a brace that will go over the whipple supercharger. I do know its not needed but I like the looks of one thus the search. I will say however I never thought about the hood. On the bright side I had been thinking about getting a new hood because of the supercharger. Let me know if anybody knows of a tower brace.

Did you try the fix for the 07's? It is mentioned on several threads here, and works on all the 07's that I have heard of including mine. Basically you just have to mount the engine cover tabs under the nuts for the fuel rails. Give it a try and I think you will find your Granatelli will fit.

It should fit with the above trick. It lowers the back of the cover enough so that it clears.

Mine is fine after a ton of hard powershifts and launches. No hitting.

Actually the hood pad was rubbing the cover before the bar was even installed and ruining the cover, now it does not hit the cover and is keeping it nice.
