I had mine done with the stock air box, along with the K&N Drop In and Slp's. Gained 19 hp/34 tq "91 Oct Tune". Two shops that I've been to recently on getting other upgrades done, said they don't run them personally. They like the initial cool quick charge, and it's more eye candy. Now, I'm not trying to start an argument, that’s just what two professional shops said.

Very odd though, my stock pull was only 253 hp/264 tq?

Is there a way to post charts? What make of dyno? Auto or Stick?

Its a stick, and was done at ST MotorSports by Adam. I'll get the dyno sheet up tomorrow.

They have a dyno jet. Very low numbers for a dyno jet. Odd??
Did they have it adjusted for different type output?

Here's the dyno chart. Not sure on what you mean by " did they have it adjusted for some type of other output?"

This confirms my suspicion that the hp gain from typical "tunes" on stock Mustang GTs is nothing more than the gain from having higher ignition timing/spark, which requires the use of 91+ octane gas. There's about 10-15 hp to be had from just a 93 octane tune, perhaps more with the Mustang intake/exhaust setup. If the stock airbox is as much of a restriction as everyone says it is, then there's another 10-15 hp to be had from a low restriction air intake (at least).

I plan to keep mine totally stock. I am far from impressed with the lousy cotton gauze conical hot air intakes (yeah the shields are there but idling in the summer in heavy traffic should change CAI into HAI) having less filtration efficiency than paper. Driving by/through cornfields using a K&N showed me the light. With a paper filter, I typically find a mound of dust/dirt in the airbox. With a K&N drop-in filter, there was no dust/dirt in the airbox. It went straight into the engine with the large particles (too big for the holes in the gauze) still clinging to the gauze.

I also plan to run 87 octane all the time. Sacrificing filtration efficiency and having to run premium isn't worth it (IMHO) for a lousy 10-20 extra ponies.

Getting rid of the throttle lag, tweaking the rev/speed limiters, and tweaking the shift schedule (for autos) however, is well worth the price of a tune.

I had a Diablosport, and installed the 93 octane performance tune that comes with it, and I couldn't feel a difference.

I think the programmers won't do much without any custom tuning, and they really come into play when doing intake/exhaust modifications.

I was planning on going with the tuner by itself also. But if the CAI is worth 10+ horsepower I would reconsider. However, I do wonder how effective these filters are at keeping dirt out of my motor...

I just meant SAE or something else or a mixture.
The final run looks a lot like my stock run.

That’s pretty discouraging then on my end, if that’s your bone stock run compared to my 91 oct tune?

That's what it was. The guys from the local Mustang club said," You musta got a good one".
Don't know what the drop-in did for you, but the tune must have changed something .
