Around 5 hours, but that was doing the CMCV Deletes at the same time. Picture taking and lunch included.

As far driving around, in my short (and not too crazy) test drive, I can't say that there's a world of difference. Only that it feels just as strong in the bottom end before this mod. Keep in mind that it's coupled with the CMCV Deletes.

Like I mentioned in the CMCV post, these 2 mods are being overshadowed by the 4.10's. Even though I'm sure that the UPD's and CMCV's will show an improvement on the dyno, all the neck snapping is coming from the gears.

I haven't cycled the A/C on yet.
I do know that Steeda engineered these pulleys with Ford Engineers. So that's got to be a plus.

I had mine in Reverse.
I thought about trying other gears, but then decided to pull the fan for the write-up. At least that's my story.

I hear if you have after-market subs put in the trunk, you will not have enough power for both the pulleys and the subs, you have to pick one or the other. Is this true?

I haven't a clue.

Maybe post this question in the Audio Mods section. Some guys with high-powered stereos and amps can better answer your question.

So do you think you will have any problems if you take it into the dealer?

Two Questions,

What kind of gloves are those and where do you get them?

What brand of pully puller is that?

Doubt it. As long as the warranty issue isn't related to the pulleys, should be non-issue (that goes for the rest of my mods).

Gloves are HyFlex 11-600. http://www.ansellpro.com/index.asp
I believe there's several online suppliers that you can order from.

Gear puller and harmonic balancer install tool are from Blue Point (I think they're a Snap-On division).

As always bill nice write up. I still need to get the delete plates. Just waiting for Fast Perf intake to come out this summer and see what the gains are with it before i get the deletes since their intake will have them on em.

Got the Part Numbers from the Snap-On catalog.

YA9740B Harmonic Damper Pulley Puller

YA188C Harmonic Balancer Installer

I was on the fence with these 2 mods. Recently decided, what the heck, and got them. After I get my C&L Racer, that'll be about it for simple bolt-ons.

Here's a question for you Billster:

Any advantage to doing the pulley's and delete at the same time?

Not sure I have the energy to do them both at the same time but individually I think I could handle ha

Good stuff Bill

And how about those valve covers.........................still thinking on those?

About the only advantage is having the factory air tube and box out of the way when performing both mods. Other than that, no real advantage as they can be done seperately.

In hindsight, I should've just taken a heatgun to the new pulley instead of boiling it. But, to go through the experience was worth it.
And, I probably wouldn't have wiped down the pulley with brake cleaner because their wouldn't have been any melted plastic on it. Thus, my pulley would've still been black. But, I do like the look of my shiny pulley though, just have to keep it wiped down with WD40 so it won't start rusting like the factory pulley.

The order is already in for my FRPP camcovers.

Ok you didn't waste much time on that

Then what color did we order for those CamCovers? Something freaky or something along the lines of your current color scheme?

Trying to keep up with you Bill is useless

Phil, trying to keep up is futile. I have a 15 month head start on you!

With all your new mods the C&L Racer should be an improvement over the K&N. Hmmm, but I won't be able to say mine is bigger than TacoBill's.

You should've gained about 20hp with K&N + Tune vs. 25-30hp C&l Racer + Tune

Yeah, me too, didn't do these right away. I'm about two months ahead of you on the CMCV's and UDP. I put the balancer pulley in a small toaster oven cranked all the way up.

As far as no more simple bolt ons...don't forget one-piece driveshaft and adjustable control arms!

Yeah, I should've just taken a heat gun to the pulley just to simplify things. Although I kinda like the shiny effect of the pulley when I accidentally wiped all the paint off!

I'd entertain the 1 piece driveshaft, but I have 2 concerns..

I wonder if it will have clearance to the MGW Shifter?

Until I stop reading posts about the vibration issues (at hwy speeds), I don't quite get that 'warm & fuzzy'. Could be the way they installed it though..
