Yes it's a new product. I saw them but I didn't want to be the first to take the plunge. I wonder how the Steeda struts compare to stock struts and to D-specs. They're also available in just a front or rear set. Has anyone replaced their struts as a pair rather than all 4 at once? What reason?

Are these shocks for a lowered application or just a better replacement for the stock mustang?

It can be used with stock springs or lowered springs. Steeda has added them to their Stage 2 handling pack. Either way Steeda claims better performance than the stock struts and "better ride than competing brands". Hopefully someone who owns them will chime in.

I went ahead and emailed Steeda just to ask about the shocks and I told them I had ultralights waiting to install heres the response I got.

"Steeda's new Pro Action shocks & struts are the ultimate in handling and quality for street & road course competition. Steeda's Pro Action shocks and struts come with a lifetime warranty, best ride quality in their class and are great on the street or track. The shocks will be a nice match with your springs."

The warranty sounds good I think I'm going to pick up a set in spring when I lower my car and get new rims & tires.

They Steeda units have higher compression and rebound valving. Not so high though as to give bad ride quality. They ride very well and will improve handling as well.

There is no way to compare them directly to the D-specs. They are stiffer than D-specs at their softest setting. If you play with the D-specs enough Im sure you could find a setting that comes close to what we have done. Our valving is custom and alot of research went into it before deciding on the final valving. Its not something "off the shelf" so there is nothing out there that would directly match it.

How do they compare to the FRPP/MultiMatic struts/shocks ?

Steeda's New shocks should have a better ride quality, because they have a quicker rebound. Plus I like the lifetime warranty..

Thanks for the post.

I've been thinking about replacing the shocks on all four corners for quite a while.

There is something just not right with the stock shocks that I really dont like.........they just dont seem to be working like one would expect.

I'll be ordering a set soon. Too cold out right now.

I'm also interested in these. Would like to hear from somebody that has them, though, since they are so new.

I, too, don't think the stock struts/shocks are cutting it with the Steeda Ultra Lite springs. Hopefully these will be the perfect match!

I wonder who makes them for Steeda? It sounds like they are describing Bilstein, which just came out recently for the s197.

Me too. I don't like the way the stock suspension handles the heaved concrete sections. Makes you feel like you are riding a horse at a canter when crossing a bridge.

Might be but then Steeda says they did a lot of R&D to find the combination that they are selling so who knows who they are getting them from.

Since one of my rear shocks is leaking badly I went ahead and ordered a pair of rear shocks for now. Later this next summer I'll probably get the struts and then might as well get their new upper strut bearings while I'm at it.

The Shocks are made by Tokico, They are valved to Steeda specs. I heard they have a exceptional ride quality.

I think I'm going to buy this kit - I found out from Steeda that they tested them with the Ultra-Lites and they are a very good match.

One common issue our customers commented on with FRPP shocks was that although they feel ok on smooth roads, on rough surfaces they have a pronounced bounce to them. Feels like a bunny hop effect. Where the car first feels like it bottoms out then bounces back up pretty aggressively.

Can be pretty scary on while cornering on a rough surface. Our shocks will show much more control, but with great ride quality.

That's what they do on the rear, almost like it launchs you in the rear. Deciding between these or the D Spec.

I'm looking to get as close to 1G as possible w/o loosening anymore kidney stones. I know it can be done with the right spring/shock combination........ along with sway bars.

R y'all going to be at the PRI show and if so what booth # ?
