Hello all, I gots me a 2005 GT manual tranny, and everytime I get out of the car, I get a massive shock.....I mean evrytime and I mean MASSIVE. Anyone else experiencing this....if so/not, any suggestions on what to do without puting a grounding strap on?

all cars do taht here after a temp change for some reason

This isn't like other shocks I have gotten from other cars.....I would say it almost hurts.

if it was acloth interior i would suggest spaying them with allittle fabric softener. so with leather make sure you use it on your clothes.

hmm... no static electricity discharges from my 05 yet... haven't heard of any issues regarding that one yet either. I guess yours earned the nickname lightning though.

Last tuesday i took mine to the paint shop for stripes. When i got her back, same thing. BANG!!!!. and yes it hurt. But after 2 days it went away on its own.

Probably best just to drive naked. Any reasonable police officer would understand when you explain your situation to him.

Are you getting shocked only when exiting the vehicle, only when entering, or both? :scratch:

Sounds like a ground off somewhere to me, which is going to be a pain in the hiney to nail down.

I have the same issue with my Intrepid R/T all year round, but probably not to the degree you seem to be having. :bang:

They did just swap out the headunit.....I think it only started after that.

I always got a massive shock getting out of my 02. So much so, that I made a habit of holding on to the exterior as I slid out, so I could avoid it. It had cloth buckets, and was part of the reasoning of me getting leather in the 05.

I'd try to isolate the possible problem. Pull the fuse for the radio for a day or 2 and see if it still happens. That should cut power to the radio... just an idea.
