So I'm trying to put the new r27 on my Predator, and going to through the same exact motions I've gone through before:
1. Restore original backup
2. Put the new crom file on the Predator
3. Plug Predator into the car and attempt to put my DTP tune on the car

But when I go to install the DTP tune, and it says it will backup the original, it acts fine, then it says there's some sort of mismatch error?

WTF?

I've restored the car twice now, and put the DTP tune on the Predator with no errors of any kind, only to have it fail on the backup step in the car.

Anyone experience this? What's the remedy?

From what I herd the r27 update does absolutely nothing for the 05 GT (correct me if I am wrong), so why bother with updating the software?

P.S. Are you still selling the TBS, and if so how much?

QUESTION: [Hello, I have a 2005 Mustang GT 5spd manual. I have a custom tune via the Predator using r22 (pretty sure it's r22 - I haven't put the 2 latest updates on there since they don't apply to my car). However I can still tell that torque management is doing it's thing, and it's extremely aggrevating. I had a 96 GT with FAR less horsepower and could get the rear end to kick out in 2nd gear. I have 4.10's in this car and torque management prevents all of the available torque from being applied when I hammer it. WHEN will DiabloSport enable the Predator to ELIMINATE torque management?

Dave

ANSWER:
Dear Dave,

Try the r27 update. It should take care of any issues you have.

Thank you for your interest in DiabloSport!
Stay tuned,
PK, a proud member of the DiabloSport Support Team

And yep - still have the TBS for $110 shipped to your door.

OK - on a hunch I put the Predator back to r22 and redid the entire process, this time without a hitch. So obviously either the DTP tune doesn't like r27, or r27 doesn't like the DTP tune. I'll send an email to Brent@DTP and get his input. I'll post back once I hear from him.

Wait, Predator is claiming the newest update gives an option to turn off torque management? I need to update it sounds like, but I also have a DTP tune, so I may have a problem updating...

Well, I tried it just now on mine and got the same error about custom tune mismatching. Went back to last revision with no issues.

I'm sorry, but that's just a canned answer from them.

Interesting. I asked that exact question of Scott Beer a couple of days ago concering my DiabloSport Custom Tune and was informed it would be compatible with r27. Scott should know since he wrote the tune but I haven't actually tried it because I was under the impression 05 users had nothing to gain. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread.

Dave hope you have this resolved by next Saturday's meet at MOSI. See you there!

Ok, I'm going to have to ask. Are both autos and manuals affected by torque management, or just the autos?

I'd say it's both. To me, it seems like the power comes on linearly, instead of all at once. I have no lack of power, just the way it's applied to the rear wheels. I want to mash the throttle in 2nd gear and have rear tires break loose at say, 35mph. In first gear it will do that no problem!

Well, I just loaded r27 and reflashed the car with no problem at all. I took it out for a quick run up and down the road and I really don't feel much (if any) of a difference. I tried riding in 2nd gear and mashing the pedal, the tires definitely did not spin. Now going from 1 to 2, I could easily lay a loooooonng strip, but that is nothing new

Now aren't you glad you spent all that time and effort? However, we all appreciate your persistence. At least you can say you have the latest revision.
