Okay so I'm looking at a few different things for my stang but with so many different options on everything, I can use your guys input. The first thing would be the cold air induction, it seems the general feeling on here is that JLT seems to be the best? So the second would be the tuner, Diablo or SCT???? Then another question on that would be where do I get the custom tunes for all the stuff I want to add. I already have exhaust on her but I'm thinkin about gettin the SLP's. Then theres always headers...and Steeda has lots of fun things.....then some new gears and tires, and rims....oh boy...as you can see my mind is definitly workin on things I wanna do, now its just a matter of your guys opinions...oh yeah and maybe some money too, cuz ya know, thats always helpful..

I'll sound off for JLT. I raced a stock 05 Mustang and I beat him pretty good. The only mod I had was a JLT with a tune. As far as the tuner (Diablo vs SCT) it is personal preference. I hear SCT is coming out with a better version of their tuner to compete with Diablo. So that is a wait and see game.

Custom tunes come from your local dyno shop. I know SCT has a "Local Dyno Shop" link on their site. Not sure if Diablo does. But you can go there to find a local guy.

And you can always search for topics to help you decide. Keep tabs on the "GT Tech and Performance" area for new and exciting mods to do to your car.

Just curious what your dyno numbers with JUST the JLT and a tune. Actually, I would like to see the same thing from a C&L customer, a MMR customer, a K&N customer( ok they advertise no tune needed, so that can go with or without a tune). Just real world factual numbers from average Joe's so we can start to get an actual idea as to which ones are doing what numbers. Don't care about baseline, don't care about gain percentage, just looking for final numbers from the CAI and tune. No UD pulleys, no gear change, no electric water pumps, etc. Maybe one or two from each product. Just the bottom line.

heck, I will even start. Steeda CAI, Diablo Predator, tune from Diablo.
286.6 rwhp, 306 ft.-lb rwtq.

C&L CAI intake and Predator Tune= 290 rwh and 309 rwt. I hear the revised tune is even better, but I have not dyno'd with the c&l r12 tune.

While the comparison is a good idea, it doesn't prove anything. Dynos all read differently, so to be scientific you would need to dyno all of them on the same machine, under the same conditions. It is my opinion that the JLT and C&L will post similar numbers, which aren't going to effect performance.

I completely agree with your point on the dyno. That is why I stated it the way that I did about just wanting real world numbers from average Joes. Just to get a broad "50,000 ft. view" if you will of what the average person can expect from the perticular purchase of his choice.

Not looking for a controlled environment, all done on the same dyno, all done by the same tuner using the same software, on the same vehicle, with the same atmospheric conditions, bla bla bla.

This is the only way to prove ultimately which makes the most power. IMO, it's not going to be a noticeable difference between the JLT and C&L. The steeda, MMR, and MAC should also show similar numbers.

I was the loser! .....just kidding, it was fun. Kluski took me by a car length plus some but I'll get my revenge!

off topic: Kluski, let me know when you get that video online, and if you have any pics send them my way.
