I had a 98 Mustang GT that blew in the snow. My SVT Focus I have curently now blows even worse in the snow. So with that being said...how has your 05 + mustang driven in the snow?

One word "useless". Trust me, you don't want to go there. Mine is going in the garage soon to sit for 4 months while we get all the crappy rain and dirty roads. Not too much snow here, but they love to salt the roads when it gets frosty.

Just put some snow tires on and you will be fine. Drove mine through a Canadian winter with no problems.

He's right...it just comes down to good tires and knowing how to drive in snow. I drove v8 mustangs for years in Cleveland winters (snow belt) without issue. The new car has traction control so what could be easier? You have to know your cars limitations, though. I wouldn't take my mustang up Snoqualmie pass to go skiing, but if it was my only car and I had to get accross, then chain up and away I go.

:nono: Don't even try it...Put it away...keep it nice and warm....lol ...you may be able to get around...but what about all the other idiots who can't drive in snow?Lets not forget all that crud that will be thrown on the roads that will end up in the craziest places underneath your car! Oh...the thought of it makes me sick

While it is not something I recommend, I did drive my 02 with its original rubber all year round. If you have a light foot, and know what you are doing, its no problem at all on ice. Its is when the snow gets deep, that you will have a problem, as the front tires are too wide, and just plow snow. (Although the tires on my 02 were wider than the ones on my 05)

Long story short, if you have to, it can be done. Since I have another car now, my 05 is going to be sitting in my garage all winter.

Agree with JT on the sandbags. And when you add in traction control, limited slip differential, and all season radials, you'll be good up to a few inches of the white stuff. But if you live in an area that has snowfalls that are frequently in the 4"-6" and above range, or has a lot of hills, then invest in a good set of snow tires.

I had mine in about 2 inches of snow last year and I was able to get by. It is my daily driver so I have no choice. 05's are better than the previous Mustangs but bottom line is, they are still Mustangs and they handle like crap in snow.
