Im trying to install the SLP Loudmouths today. I got the stock mufflers off with no problem whatsoever. Now i am trying to figure out how to get the SLP's on. Im assuming the tip with the longer hanger is the passenger side tip? it that right? Also If anyone has a guide thats betterthan the SLP isntruction sheet id appreciate it. Pics would be cool too of the underbody and the hangars and mounting brackets. Thanks

You have to put the back 2 mounting brackets up side down to have them line up.

upside down? That would mean only 1 of the 2 bolts will fit correct? and both the pipe hanger and the tip hanger? or just one of the 2?

it worked perfectly. upside down confused me for a bit. Jsut make sure to have the hanger vracket aligned to the car so the long flat part that has the words "bottom" on it faces the ground and everything will align properly. once i figured that out it installed in 15 minutes. Great sound i love it!

I did not reverse any bracket, what I did do is loosten all 8 bolts, adjust pipe ends to exactly where I wanted them, had my brother hold the ends in that position, tighten bolts, re-tighten in 1 week, that is the way I finally got them perfectly even and at the right angle I wanted

For what it's worth . . . . . I didn't have to reverse any of the hanger brackets either although I saw that it could be done. Mine hang correctly with about a thumbs gap between the tip and the rear facia's surround.

Danny,

Is that same trick needed to get the SLP Power-Flows to line too. I'm having a "fun" time getting mine to line up.

just make sure the bottom of the bracket, the part that has the word Bottom etched into it is facing the ground and you will be fine

Take a look at your brackets. Clean the lower tab off and see if it says BOTTOM on it.

Each bracket has two tabs. One is really short and the other is about 2 1/2-3" long. The longer tab is the one that goes on the bottom.

I did everything that was suggested (here and a different thread too) and then some. NO LUCK!

Problem: Drivers side "tip" points at an obvious angle downward. More than the pax side and more than the stock tips did.

I spent 4 hours under that drivers side SLP Power-Flow, trying to get it aligned correctly, it aint happening.

First 2 hours I loosened everything and spent the time twisting everything this way and that way, didn't work.

I then tried it again, but this time trying different positions of the holders into differnet places of the rubber grommet, then the twisting trick, didn't work.

Then, I took it off completly and re-installed again, as if it was the first time, didn't work.

Finally, I studied it for awhile, postioned the tip first and worked my way back, nope, didn't work.

After a "grueling" 4 hours of this, I have determined that the tip-end holder is welded to the pipe approx 1/2 - 3/4 inch off, hence the reason it won't line up correctly.

I'm going to have to take in to the local "German" shop and hope they can do alittle fancy welding. Either I'll need them to reposition the back hanger on the pipe, or heat up the pipe (where it comes out of the mini-muffler), and angle it upward. $$$$ for both.

If I had known it was going to be this much trouble, I would of gone with a more simple "plug & Play" system like the Flowmasters or Hookers.
