would the SLP be better with a tune?
No the superchips tune at 87 & 91. NO 93 on sc. tune show you lose 5 HP.

I would love to see info about losing hp with the SLP.. I cant say I have noticed a change for the negative...

Can someone provide the link to the website that proves the SLPs impact performance negatively?

With SLPs, the C&L intake and predator tune - my car is just flying now..

With the SLP loudmouth and the stock tune you lost horsepower, or did you only lose horsepower with the SLP and the superchips tune?

I can't imagine people losing horsepower with SLP's and a tune. The car should still get back presure from the cats.

Hmmmmmmm... who knows

Ok ok...

Jordan (and everyone else) you have got me curious.

Now don't get me wrong I LOVE my magnapaks but all this hype is killng me. Consequently, I just ordered a set of SLP's and should be getting them next week.

Let me tell you what I am looking for in an exhaust system.
1. Performance
2. Sound
4. Looks (Magnapaks could be better)
3. Did I say Sound?

I love the Mangapaks and would recommend them to anyone. Onething I will say is that I am ADDICTED now. I love the sound of the Mustang and I only want more.

I will definitely do a comparison write up on both exhausts. Stay tuned.
Thanks again Jordan for starting a good post.
Cheers_Jay

almost here!!!!

Perhaps the 5hp loss is the tune not the SLP

The SLP will not affect HP in a negative way, besides, it's my understanding that back pressure is achieved mainly by the cats, not the mufflers. I can't wait until I get my car so I can put those puppies on, they sound INCREDIBLE. I drive an 89LX, 5.0, and have straight pipes with Flowmasters 40 series, and they sound good, I can't wait for these!

I just installed my SLP's last night. WHOA....that first start on a cold engine really startled me. POP POP POP....then went away as it settled and warmed up. darn thing screams at WOT. Easy install, did it myself in under 90 minutes. The one thing though, the passenger side tailpipe might line up a tad too high. I have about a 1/4 inch space between the pipe and the rear bumper. I will have to keep an eye on it to see if it moved. I don't see how, I torqued the poo out of those clamp bolts.

as they break in the clamp bolts should be checked 2-3 times over the next week or two - they may loosen up a bit.

Yeah... mine were uneven, then after about a week, they magically became even, and I tightened everything.
